Want to drag race?

Buy another car........... the 8 has adequate power, but it ain't no ball tearing drag racer (unless you go 20B or 13B-T)

Bring on the supercharger!!

I Currently you will need to master the power delivery of the rotary in order to get good times.

Yesterday I launched the car and watched the tacho climb to 8500. To my surprise when I changed gear to 2nd the rear of the car squatted and there was a distinct chirp from the tires clearly audible over the hymee exhaust :D

While it was a short squirt I was left quite impressed with my effort.

Speakin of chirps...
I love doing it, but everytime I hear 2nd to 3rd chirpin, it makes me think of my precious license, how could I put it in such danger, cos by that time, I'm doin 110km+

You'd never have a chance against a Type R Integra, especially if it had any mods...

Just curious - why do some ppl think a stock 8 would have a hard time against a stock type R? I mean the 8 is not that much heavier (100kgs or so) but it certainly has the advantage being RWD and more ooomph.... sure the engines are similar in that they need a caning at high revs to get things going but the only thing I can think of going for the Type R is the weight and maybe the iVTEC that delivers about 85% of torque at 3500RPM..... stock vs stock the 8 should have the advantage.....

Lol too late for me to drag a stock 8 at the lights..... (not that I encourage street racing) :D

Modded Type R vs stock/modded 8, well then that's a different story - mods can vary from something small like just a drop in intake to the full monty of I/H/E chip cams valve springs etc - different kettle of fish......

I've owned a DC5R and trust me, stock for stock, the 8 will win by the slimmest of margins.
Admittedly the Type R is easier to launch consistently whereas the 8 takes a bit of fine tuning.

this car is not about straight line drag racing..
if it's straight line speed you are after, should get commodores or wrxs....
the road is not all about straight.
it's about corners too

Lol ur right, we're starting to talk like 19yr old P platers driving VN commodores

This reminds me of the time an excel with a Boeing 747 sized GT wing, 18 inch chromies and a doof doof stereo pulled up to me at a set of traffic lights and started revving his car wanting to drag..... LOL!!! :D

Driving thru twisties and on the track is by far MUCH more fun than traffic light drags..... (boring as hell and doesnt prove much anyway)

if you can't control your launch n/a how do you expect to launch with a supercharger?

DC5s are pretty quick with mods, but like the rx8 it isn't a drag racer either.

most of the problems launching the rx-8 are due to bogging down from low torque/low revs so I reckon a supercharger would help. hopfully the SC would stop the need to get clutch slip and revs spot on.
