My dads moving out to aus next year, hes a carpenter and im an electrician. Ive a girlfriend and we're thinking of going out there also.

Most likely melbourne. Whats the rx8 scene like out there?

Are the roads good? Petrol prices? Much modification going on?

Last time i was out i was about 7 years old

Roads are good, must have done resurfacing recently on the east Alps. Now snowing though.

Petrol is at 148 cents per litre today. 98 octane is 10 cents dearer. I am expecting to see some 145 or less tomorrow afternoon though (being Tuesday).

There are 2 tubro rx-8 here .... no 3 at least I know, may be more. We have regular track days, although it is sparse since all of us are busy.

 

Good gracious, why are you going to Melbourne? They all wear black down there, you get a speeding ticket for driving more than 3km/h over the limit, and the weather is lousy.

In contrast, in Brisneyland the sun always shines, there is a much higher RX-8 density, and petrol is 8c/L cheaper than down in the rust belt (NSW and Vic). Today's fuel price is 136.9c/L for 92 RON, say 64.5p/L. 95-98 RON is 8-10c/L dearer.

 

Don't go to Sydney ...

The roads are ****, jams everywhere, petrol is expensive and lots of RX8s are shod with Lebanese chariot spec 20-21" bling bling wheels on Nankang NS2 tyres.

 

I'm in agreement in Andy on this one. i'm in sydney and the roads are shocking

 

We used to have a reasonable scene here in Melbourne but people have gotten shy recently. We would love to have more enthusiastic people over here...come on down!

 

Yep - go to Melbourne or Brisbane. Perth is also good. Adelaide's ok if you're an insomniac.

Sydney sucks **** for driving.

 

HEY WATCH IT DAVE...

Adelaide is great, we don't have the RAT race like NSW or the traffic congestion of the east, we have great roads.

15 minutes from the city we have the hills with the best DRIVING roads in the country...superb for any Mazda RX-8 or MX-5.
The Classic Adelaide Rally guys from around the world love it.

If you want driving roads and great weather (4 seasons in a year, not 365 like Melbourne) then come to sunny SA.

The only other place for superior Mazda Roads is Tasmania.

OH, Forgot to add Adelaide is the only state that was not populated with convicts!!

 

Hahaha, the longer the defence, the weaker it is Ash.

If Adelaide is so wonderful, why isn't the population count higher? Face it mate - it's the only cemetery that lights up at night.



BTW, I have no problem with our convict heritage. The pommies are the only ones dumb enough to send their criminals to paradise whilst the law abiding folk stay home in the cold, rain and fog. Go figure...
