i'm such a moron

hey guys

after 3 months of quality time with my flawless RX8, i had my first collision today . it was so stupid.. me and my friend (driving a hatchback ford) reversed out of her driveway at the same time and hit each others rear bumpers .

her car is now dual-toned silver AND blue courtesy of my winning blue car .

anyways, i'm just pissed off about our silliness and at how easily avoidable it was ! wanted to vent >=(

So sorry to hear about your crunch... you're OK?

Yea, those rear view mirrors are a bitch to use...
Up side... good time for an after market bumper!

There has to be a blond joke in here somewhere...

hehe yeah im okay Eyeball Fixer - interesting name choice, by the way
thanks for asking

i've got these massive scratches on the left of my rear bumper now.. they reach right to the black plastic beneath layers of paint . it's so ugly

me and my friend (a girl, like me!) went to the mazda dealership to ask for advice on what to do now, and the guy was laughing at us !! he said the only way to have had a girlier collision was for us to have been on our mobiles as well ! hmph ! i'm not sure i care for his teasing >=(

hahah true true (:P to all the males in this forum!}

something i read online to prove the point:

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat.
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")
"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.
"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment." "Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.

lol, sorry to disappoint you kunz, but we both have blacker than black hair . we're both asian . we both go to sydney university . we both got UAI's above 90 .

which goes to show that these things happen to the best of us, i guess =P hehe just kidding there =]

to be more specific about what happened,
say her car is like this \
and my car is like this |
so basically on her driveway we are parked like this \|
we decided to head off to another friend's place, jumped into our respective cars, reversed and the rest, they say, is history .

the guy at the dealership said he knew a guy who could blow the paint over [or something like that] and it would cost roughly $300 . does that sound right to you ?

hm not sure what he means by that...he could have meant 'rub the paint down', which basically means they use an abrasive to cut down on the clearcoat of paint to 'remove' a scratch but i seriously doubt that would work from the description of the damage you mentioned.

i went through my insurance because of the other car involved.
this happened in one of very first rx-8 cruises.. this lady tailgated me into the car park which i didn't see and I backed up trying to reverse park..
because of all the headache involved for fixing the other car, I just went through insurance, but I think $300 sounds about right for your case.. so I guess it's just a minor dent? care to post some pics ? don't be too embarassed. this things do happen

Sorry to hear that Miss Trish.

We've all had parking worries at one stage or another (both sexes!!).

Never mind - it's all fixable.

Sorry to hear it!

I once backed into a tree in a Pajero....naturally had a car full including a couple of very amused mates and my 15 month old shouting "bang" from her car seat . She then decides that "daddy bang" is her new "fun phrase"........ I still hear that 10 years later from time to time....so called mates!!!

Yeah up with UNSW. Go Kunz. USYD has crappy parking.

Don't worry about the crash. It could have been far worse!

I was seen at shell? hmmm my disguises aren't working. I don't like when people see me when I have just taken a trip out to pour petrol. I usually have hat hair and am wearing $2 shoes.

And to go back to another topic, UNSW craps all over USYD. Heritage is another way of saying OLD AND WORN DOWN. And if you are catching a train you need to get off at Redfern station. 'Nuff said.
