Hymee did a interesting thing - but proud of it.

On the spur of the moment, I entered the Bribie Island Triathlon. I only entered at about midday, Friday. It was on this morning. I chose the "long course", which is actually 1/2 olympic distance. 750m Swim, then 20km Bike, then 5km run.

I am proud to say I finished. So I think that makes me a Triathlete, as well as certifiable mad.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Good on you mate...

I can't swim ... or I should say I swim but tend to be swimming at the same spot all the time. :o. So I only ride.

Damn I missed out Around the Bay this year because of little Taka. I did well the last 4. 210km bike ride - best in 6 hour 15 minutes. The condition was perfect this year, if I had entered I could have done under 6 hours with the pack A.

Well, in answer to that... I actually am entered in the Noosa Triathlon in 2 weeks time. It is full Olympic distance (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run). I organised a team, and I am doing the swim. I was recommended on Friday to have a go at Bribie as pratice for the team, one of whom I have not met yet. They were unable to go today, so I said stuff it, I'll do it myself. :D

Supercharger questions You need to pay a deposit to get those answers. Just kidding. All going well in preparation. I hope to have some results in November for you all. But we should save that for thethread.

Cheers,
Hymee.

What do you mean "Ambulance", Taka !!! ???

I am only doing the swim at Noosa. 1,500m - I do 2 and a bit km 4 times a week anyway.

Supercharger. OK. OK. OK. As well as doing a Tri, I have been doing grill kits all weekend, and also helping out with the first export order for Hymee Exhausts.

Whats going on? I thought I gave you a hint? Perhaps I have missed a reply.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Good to see you're doing something about your health mate.

I'm keeping Taka company here, I can also swim pretty fast, as long as I stay in the same spot. I can run and ride however.

These days it's just Tae Kwan Do for me.

Hymee from being almost a cripple some months ago, what a turn around....well done!

I never said I was fast. No one asked who much of the run I actuall "ran". I completed the full distance, but not much of it was running or jogging. Besides I didn't do any running training. But I was peddling the treadly for the full 20km, and the swim - well you don't actually get anywhere if you don't swim, so I guess I swam all of it.

One of my work mates completed the New Zealand Ironman Triathlon last year - 2300m swim, 180km ride, 42km (marathon) run. I beat him out of the water today That was the only leg I was not the last to finish.

I was the last to finish, but I didn't come last

Cheers,
Hymee.

Good on you Hymee. I did a teams event a couple of months ago, I was the bike rider in a olympic distance (40km). I'm no athlete believe me, but I finished and it felt real good. Our next one is in 3 weeks time, I'm doing a 14km bike ride, my wife is doing a 5k run, and another friend is doing I think a 500m swim.

My ambition is to do one by myself eventually, I can run and ride but can't swim very well at all. Might work on that this summer!

They look amazing, probably sound even better than they look.

Have there been any design changes since you've been making them?

Nice effort on the triathlon. My brother is an asthmatic and they said swimming helps with breathing related probs, is this part of the reason you are getting into it?

I hear the swim is the worst for getting bashed and brused, people pulling you under etc etc, let alone all those people emptying their bladders in the water....

Congrats Hymee.. takes me back to my mid 20's when I was addicted to tri's...oh how I tortured my poor body ( no wonder it's angry with me now!!)

The swim was always fun..... fists in the head, getting pushed under, dragged back by your feet.

I did once throw up in the swim.. I pitied the 5 poor buggers behind me!...

You haven't lived til you've done a classic distance event and run the last 5 km with bleeding feet.....

I still swim, and the bike lives in the garage , but running is evil and bad and should not be contemplated by large framed blokes! ankles and shins don't appreciate it.

Cheers
