Just started uni holidays and took some time off before working full-time for the next couple of weeks and came up with this. Was planning to get the rear JDM fog
cause i think it really does cover all the gaps on the rear bar with it and I've got
the hymee catback that gets rid of the can and fills the gaps. But I'm in poverty so
resorted to something else.

Bought $6.50 of transparent red perspex.
3 screws (100mm)
$5 worth of screws and bolts
Bulb which i found from a stock RX8 front bar I bought off ebay

I drilled a big enough hole to put the bulb through the bumper.
I outlined the rotary empty motiff with paper, cut it, traced it to perspex,
sand it down nice and flush, then screwed it straight into the bumper.

So here are the pics...

If i had a little bit more money, i would've bought clear coat black to spray the bumper bit inside black to make it more stealthish, and definitely the screws too.
The screw bit between perspex and bumper i melted rubber over it,
with a lighter. :D
I would've liked it to go on when I brake and be on the parkers as well. But for now its just parkers as budget was tight to go and get a double bulb thingo.

I hooked it up to my rear right parker light. ( when you click the lights once)
All this was much easier to do then my Wildcard mod for sure.

Nice job! Was the wiring difficult? Is it a fog light or brakelight?

Fog light has to rewire to the front, I'm clueless bout that.
I took the inside boot panel out to get to the brake light. And removed the tools
case at the bottom to wire through this rubber plug that looks like
it's there in case the car floods??? Well i drilled through that and put my wire through there.
There's 3 cables that you hook up, 1 is electrical i think, the other is parker, and the last
is brake. Having both is cool but you need the double bulb thingo.

Well taka's is the real deal, mines chat, but i don't really mind!

But a total of $11.50 simply is hard to beat for this mod.

TIP: Put some mirror finish around the globe and you'll get awesome effects.
That's too pricey for me D

Is there a way to do this mod whitout having to reveal the screw heads, could it be fitted in a different manner glued or screws from the sides ???

i was thinking of putting rubber around the edges of the perspex
then fit it thru the slight groove if you have a look at it.
but then, that doesn't ensure it'll be there after a mountain drive or over a few bumps.
Superglue?
I personally had in mind the screws idea cause i like the look. But i didn't like seeing
the screw between the plastic and bumper so stealthed it.
But please tell us if anybody has an idea on how to fit it flushly without seeing the screws.

Oh and if you want details, ARTLINE permanent red.

get a tube automotive sealant (aka. fikaflex ~$11) and small tin of grease and wax remover (aka. prepsol ~$5 to 7).

apply the sikaflex on the edge of the perspex neatly and put it onto the rear bar section, soak a couple small piece of rags and use one to wipe all the excess on the edges and use the other one to clean all up properly.

the only downside is that you will have to do all that again if you need to replace the bulb. but it gives you a neat job without using the screws.

tip#1: dont apply too much, use some sort of masking tape on the outer edge of the rear bar to avoid excess sticking while cleaning

tip#2: after cleaning, remove the masking tapes, and use new ones to put the perspex in place untill sikaflex dries...... allow overnight for full effect

tip#3: use razor blades to cut sikaflex open if need to replace the bulb.

ps. it may be more effective to apply chrome spray paint on the inside to give that shiny red effect

That is the cleanest homb job I have ever seen

Lock I still think I paid $500 for the switch that you can turn it on and off as you like, and also the on/off status also shown on the dash. Nothing beats JDM :D

Nail polish apparently does a good job for touching up all manner of things - automotive and otherwise. But some guys can be a bit sensitive about being spotted poring over the colour charts at the nail polish display :D

Oh, and nicely done mod too.
