Highest Speed travelled in your 8...?

Hi all, besides the obv. (look at thread title) question i'm going to ask, i just want to put in a disclaimer...im not trying to support street racing or anything here, so please no picking..

I just want to know what are some of the higher speeds u guys hav gotten upto in the 8...?

kno i dont know if this has been asked b4 ...? (do point out) but, u can just mention the speed, or add in "where" detail, ie NSW m2 motorway, sunday morning b4 10 am for instance...

Oh yeah dont make it a competition....oh btw, id love to see your response choppy.... :D :D

There is actually a thread in the general forum:
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/top-speed-9066/

For me though the fastest I have taken the 8 to is 110km/h.
On the track of course

110 km/h and the car felt solid as a Rock!!
With this chassis, I reckon 280 km/h easy!!

201 on the main straight of Sandown although to me it felt a little soft (light at the rear end). Sandown has a pretty bumpy straight!

Does a "little" over a hundred around a 45 indicated count? Kid's went riding, I went and exercised the "horses". Lotsa fast corners not so much straightline.:p

Motor tested the rx8 to puff out at 235?
So I'd assume, given more road, top speed testing would be pointless.?

While some of the responses are entertaining, I reckon Mikeyr has made the best point.

Let's face it, there are a number of other cars that will do the RX8 over in straight line acceleration and top speed. It's the ability to hold speed through corners that makes it so addictive to drive. That and the pure fun of revving the thing to red-line. :D

110 kph on the Hay Plain. The car has 3000 rpm to go, but I think it was starting to bounce against a speed limiter.

Solid though, it could have gone a lot faster without losing shape.

Hmmm ... I guess before. Since the swaybar broke last night, and I am in Adelaide at the moment. Even if I wanted to, there is no way I would travel from Hay to Adelaide at night, damn Kangaroos everywhere.

Nah, I've done it twice, last year in October, and the year before that in September.
