I think the high beam could be a lot stronger.
Out here in the bush it looks a bit pale alongside a Commodor or Falcoln.
However I would have no conscience about shooting out the foglights on ********* who drive with them on when there is no fog.

fog lights are driving lights in many makes... so people uses it when they drive.

Tough lucks.

The casing of halogen lights are for halogen only. If you change its to HID sandy man...it will glare. Yes it is cheap but 8000K is very white - to blue even. Stock HID is around 5000K mark (*I am sure it is lower than that).

So I think you are likely to get pull over if you have 8000K. And it s not that bright compare with stock HID in luxury pack to start with.

Have you thought of buying some 2nd hand HID set from stock RX-8s?

I've got 8000K in the states. Never had a problem. I've also found them for cheaper on ebay. I only bought the headlights though. They look white to sky blue. I doubt cops will care.

As far as the casing goes for the fogs, you can do it. Take the reflectors out. There is actually a DIY on the site. a ton of people on here have done exactly what you are looking to do... so it can be done... and easily at that.

I wouldn't do the fogs unless you replace the whole thing with a projector - even with a D2R (for reflector) bulb, the reflector is not made for HID and will scatter and dazzle people/cops, and they will 'react'.

Haha... our American friend. You have no idea what the police down under is up to.

Yes most of the cop would not care, but you have a bad luck meeting one of those traffic cop on a blitz for defect car... any car lowered and HID kit will suffer.

White is ok. Any shade of blue is just likely to attract the cops travelling in the opposite direction or the one on highway with a laser gun.

Yes Aussie cops, especially the ones in victoria, has nothing better to do.

Shouldn't have a problem here in NSW. Alot of stock luxury cars have the blue tinge to the lights, so you'll just blend in with the crowd in my opinnion. Plus, there are plenty of commo's and lancers driving around with those blue/green tinge bulbs...

It would be good to replace the foglights with some decent projectors and wire it to the high beam.
The big problem with the existing high beam is that it is too focused.
Kangaroos and cattle that are off the road can cover a lot of ground in a hurry and it helps to see right up to the fenceline.

Agreed.

The xenon headlights on the luxury pack help but the high beam is crap. I replaced my bulbs ages ago...
