Street race to the speed limit.. If you mean illegal street race meetings its not a smart idea because;

1) Dangerous for you and the public ( Street roads are not like track roads)
2) The cops will single you out when they get there, because you dont drive a pulsar or a 200 like everyone else.
3) Unless you are racing stock cars, most cars will hazard light you.
4) To much pressure on the car, Clutch, tyres this that.. things go wrong when you race the car all the time. Your not going to go to a street race for 1 race then leave. You are going to hang around for 2-3. Think of your clutch and drive train.

Now for the bodykits maybe its a good idea to mention where you live in Australia maybe we can help with sending you to a place instead of a website.

Gomez. Dont spank them, inform them

Regards
Phillip

hi i need a help in some QS

Hollywood has a hell of a lot to answer for............................

If you need to race, take it to the track or the new Eastern Creek Drag Strip. This way, if the red mist descends, innocent people won't get hurt!

Talk of street racing on this forum is not tolerated. You can still be convicted of dangerous driving and not exceed the speed limit.

I won't delete this thread (as I did the earlier one), but I may close it. I'll leave it open to allow those people to post the reasons against it. Maybe there will be some debate, good or bad. I'm sure when someone posts about a loved one being wiped out by someone being silly people will realise.

Cheers,
Hymee.

My friend lost his car hooning on the street now he is too embarass talking in the forum about car although he has his replacement WRX.... traumatic experience I guess.

Now we result in the track days. We all promoted and have more money I guess but now our lives are precious. We all have love ones and better look after yourself.

Hope the hoon realize that before doing any serious damage. And don't bloody die on Gippsland area or else I will have more work to do... bloody drivers !

The hoon is 15 this year and methinks watches way too much 'Too Fast, Too furious"

at his age invincible and immature, limsik age does not necessarily make you a "fuddy duddy".....instead gives you wisdom.

word to you.....get your cams licence, buy (or get your father to) an open wheeler or a kart and enjoy racing on a track. It will put things in a different perspective.

There is a reason why there is an over abundance of dead males under 25yo as a result of speed and high powered cars. It is your choice to join their league or not. It's what unexpectedly jumps out in front of you that you need to be cautious of.

Well I don't condone street racing, but we are all young and stupid at some stage.

Then we lose our licences and pay the price and learn.

And as we get older we realise we should have listened to those that told us not to do it. But we thought we were smarter, and knew how to control the car.

I have done stupid things in high powered cars and been lucky. As I am sure everyone has. But younger people 18-20 year olds will never listen, just as I didn't when I was that age.

So to that I say, don't berate people who have these ideas, it makes them just do it to prove a point. We are better off trying to help them realise that it doesn't prove anything and try to get them involved in real motorsport.

The problem is the probihitive cost of racing that I know I couldn't afford at 18.

I think the government needs to provide cheaper alternatives to educate the young people, and give them events and areas that are safe to get it out of their system.

So to finish off my 2 cents worth.
Limsick.
Come and attend a track day when we go next in brisbane. You will see that it is actually a lot more fun to race on a circuit than on the street. And you get real times and not crap ones that egos inflate Don't come and watch come and participate. It is safe and a real adrenalin blast.

So that is my thing on the subject.

If you can afford to buy a high performance car, and can afford the petrol, tyres and up keep that goes with it, you shouldbe able to afford sprints/racing.

The government should do to car drivers what it does to motorcycle owners and that is to restrict ownership to certain engine sizes/horsepower output for drivers with limited driving experience.

There should also be mandatory advanced driver training. However one of their arguments is that it encourages people to speed....baloney!

I disagree... you don't have to use the skill you learn in track days in everyday driving.

Defensive course is a good way to learn and know your limits.

taka, it is in my experience that regular track drivers are more alert drivers with greater knowledge of car control. Most people that do defensive driver training courses will because someone else pays for it. Furthermore if the course is done once, or every few years it hardly encourages learned behaviour.

This thread is now heading in a sensible direction. I have some thoughts on all of these, but there is fart oo much of them to write a decent post on it now.

I did once on the LS1 forum, and someone bagged me cause he though what I was proposing was going to get his insurance to pay for my damage. Perhaps I need to go back to Insurance 101

Another time...

Cheers,
Hymee.
