help - re-wiring question

Just a quick question to 8 owners,

can you re-wire or re-program the control of the side mirror lights, so they stay on when the headlights are turned on that is opposed to just on "when the car is unlocked....

I'm sure you meant to ask, "Is there an easy and inexpensive way to rewire the mirror lights?"!!!!

Throw enough time and effort into it, and it's possible. You'd just have to patch in 12v from the headlight or dashlight cct, and probably isolate the 12v with a diode to protect the variable output from the normal supply....which I assume is controlled by the Keyless Control Module? The interior light is controlled by the KCM.....

I don't think the circuits I have will show the wiring, as they are for U.S spec cars which don't have the Ground Illumination lights in the exterior mirrors.

The wiring would lead back to the relay box under the dash. You would have to get the relay from the headlights, run a wire across to the mirror lights relay & hook it in. Make sure you electrically isolate it by using diodes to prevent unwanted power coming back turning unwanted features on.
