Smile Hello! New Aussie member here...

Greetings!

I live in Melbourne, and just ordered my RX-8 yesterday. I had a look at one located at the dealer near my house, and fell in love on the weekend.

Initially ordered a Brilliant Black one. After a sleepless night last night of indecision, this morning called up and changed it to Titanium Gray. I'm also getting the Leather Pack.

I'm planning to order the following accessories:

Fender strakes
Sports fuel cap
Maybe the front and rear spoiler (not sure yet).

My dealer advised me to install these at my first service to avoid the stamp duty tax.

The bad news: I have to wait until November before I get mine. There's a 2 month waiting list already. I got the last RX-8 to be delivered in November. Apparently after mine, the rest are coming in December and next year.

Just sharing my experiences. Will keep in touch.

Erwin welcome to the forum , if you have to wait till november arent you better of and get an early 2004 registered and built rx8 ???, i personally would not take delivery of a car that late in to the 2003 year.
Myne was delivered 26th of july its a blast to drive .

Actually, you bring up a good point. Maybe I should... since they say that it might be the end of November anyway...

Getting a 2004 vehicle would be better for resale value...

On the other hand, I turn 30 this November, and it would be a great birthday prezzie! :D

Does my heart win over my head? Why am I buying an Rx-8 instead of a Mazda 6?

What do others here think? Should I wait the extra 2 months, or just get it in November?

Erwin you are lucky in that you will have the benifit of not going thru any of the teething problems or woories that the early rx8 may have , you will also have a 2004 ride if you wait i dont believe that car prices will rise in 6 months , you will save$ 6000 being difference between 2003 car and 2004 car .

My birthday is in december so i was lucky in getting my present , 6 months earlier however i am turning the big 50. and as T
TOMMOROW IS PROMISED TO NO ONE , i decided to get in earlier .

Learning to shave on someone elses face is best , be patient and possible wait .
