Hey guys,
On my way home today my gearbox decided to die on me, 1st and reverse wont engage at all (pops out of gear when tryign to move) and there is a noise coming from what sounds like the gearbox when under load in 2nd, 3rd and 6th. 4th and 5th seem to be going ok so far. When engine breaking the car is all good, only under load it has troubles. What could the cause be, clutch, gearbox, something else?
Also how much are replacement clutches and which should i look for?

perhaps you are in need of new tranny oil?

when was the last time you changed it?

 

bout 20,000km ago, mechanics reckon the box is stuffed

 

sorry to hear of you troubles. the clutch would stuff up all gear changes. sounds like an internal problem: selector fork?.

 

hmm yeh thats what the mechanic said it could be the fork or the gears or both
so basically need a rebuild aye...
anyone know any places in western sydney? and a rough price i'd be looking at?
