Fs: Sexy Mazda Astina - SOLD

I know this is off topic for this area, but not much point posting in in the for sale section as its all american. If anyone has a friend looking for a good car would appreciate if you could pass this on.

Photos available here in the Photo Gallery Click Here

The car is fitted with a full White Line suspension kit, which consists
of Koni Adjustable shocks, upgraded bushes right through the car,
upgraded rear sway bar, front and rear strut braces. The car handles
like a gokart, steering is very direct and there is no body roll
regardless of the speed you throw it sideways at. Suspension upgrade
cost $2500.00

Mags are 18" ANZ wheels with Toyo Proxies tyres in new condition, brake
calipers have been painted red. Mages and tyres cost $5000.00

Body kit is a custom modified veilside, side shirts, rear whale wing and
front bar. Body Kit with modification and spraypainting cost $6000.00

The exhaust has a dual tip stainless steel muffler. Exhaust upgrade
cost $400.00

The vehicle is priced at $19 990.00 for an extra $5000.00 I will throw in the custom audio install worth $10 000.00 - need to be very quick if you want the audio though.

The car has 54 000km on it, I am the origional owner - it is a 1997
model BA Mazda Astina 5 door hatch.

How many megapixels and what type of lens and their strenght??

Those wheels could be used for the RX8 as their 18s.

Picture was taken with a Minolta Dimage A1 - 5 megapixel using the standard lense.

We actually sell them in my computer shop if you want one.

The wheels won't go on the RX8 because the Astina has 4 stud pattern.

Sure, I can supply it for $1870.00 inc. GST

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one for myself, its a very sweet camera. We did a lot of research before supplying them and not a lot comes close price and performance wise.

$19990? Good luck man!

Nice wheels... but I hope the new buyer likes it and get to pay for it. I found most of the options you put it worth minimal unless it is factory options. Audio is useless as there are new stuff out all the time.

People say that body kit and stuff is easier to sell separately. If I buy the mazdaspeed kit then I think the next owner of my 8 won't allow me to take it off!

I think we are lucky to get the 8 as it is still a very hot buy at the dealer side. People turns head to the car and I think the car WILL keep to its value.

The minolta is a real pros camera , but i think i may go for a KODAK dx 6 490 at $950 and save up for canzoomer stage 2 kit .heck you have to have your priorities right rx8 mods come first .

Thanks Deano

Good luck, deano

I suspect anyone in the car business will tell you that you nearly always lose most of the value of the mods, especially if they are not factory options. That's why I am wary of modding my 8 and, indeed, one of the reasons I chose a pov pack over full leather etc. I reckon it will hold its value best.

I had a V6 Astina which I sold privately to buy the 8. Nearly 90k on the clock, faultless standard body and fittings. I eventually accepted $15,800 after trying for $17,500 for some time.

The modded market is very small and personalised. Strangely, I reckon the guy who bought mine will probably spend another $5-7K doing just the sorts of mods you have done, because he wants to go through the choice process. Unfortunately, the other prospective buyer tends to be someone who hangs around until he knows he is going to get a bargain.

I wish you luck!

Astina sold on Friday for $19100.00 - no car modern car "keeps" value.

2003 MAZDA RX8
Coupe plus Leather Trim 4dr Man 6sp 1.3i (July onwards)

www.redbook.com.au $47,100 - $52,500

Sell or trade a 6 month old rx8 and expect to take a decent hit.

They'll loose less value than a ford or holden, but certainly are no investment.

I agree with your statement that most cars are not an investment .

If you can buy a second hand RX8 FOR BETWEEN $47,100----and $52,500 with less than 10,000km .

I will purchase 6 and set up a rotary rental car bussiness here on the gold coast .

The shear demand for the rx8 will ensure much higher residual values than what the redbook states IMOH.

ITS great to hear you have sold your ride and getting your RX8.

Michael,

How about chauffeur driven RX8's (driver being a <25 year old japanese lady) - for gold coast tourists. This is not totally sexist, because a small japanese lady would allow the seats to be well forward

Anyway, car+driver for a day rate on the gold coast - you could even have "Yellow Taxi" looping on the stereo! Bookings via your Tokyo office of course.

Lock 'n Load's Rock 'n Roads ???

I can even imagine some of the day trips...

Blast to Byron
Mission to Mapleton
The Picnic Express

Can you see two japanese honeymooner's drinking champagne in the back of an RX8 at 200km/h.

If it takes off, we'll have to rename you "Goldmember" :D

Your bussiness management skills and marketing pazzazz is similar to Richard bransons (virgin airlines )

Like the idea of japanese girls as drivers but 25 ??? way to old for my tastes , more like 19 -20 .

Maybe the honeymoon couples would pay extra for bed and breakfast and lessons on the kama sutra rx8 teckniques.

HA HA !!!!

I was just trying to save you a few dollars on the insurance premiums!

Of course you'd have to personally ensure that every one of your drivers will be quick on the stick, smoother on the clutch and comfortable with tight manoeuvres

Maybe Hymee's Bar 'n Grill and Overnight Cabins for the 2 day events...

Hey, if you got a dozen, you could call each girl/car combo a month of the year ... imagine having your own calendar with each "driver" posing in front of her own colour coordinated RX8 (yes, skimpy latex and boots). The wow factor would be you can even 1800-chat to her on here mobile when she's driving.

BTW www.drivemecrazy.net is for sale

In fact, go the franchise - I'd collect the callendars from each major city just for the pictures on the 8's - honest

I'm going to go and have a shower now .
