Question Floor Mat alternatives

Has anyone found any reasonable alternative fitting floor mats for their 8? I'm thinking something a bit more K-Mart priced than Mazda-dealer priced.

Newbie apologies if I've missed a previous thread on this.

Actually, about the only 'deal' I got with my car was the mats for $100 -- genuine Mazda RX-8 mats -- at purchase time

I'd say it would be almost impossible to find any alternative mats for the RX-8 because of the unique shape of the floor space, particularly on the drivers side with the engine hump protruding out so far. You may just have to take the pain and get the real deal (which look great mind you).

Or look for someone who can custom make some mats for you.

I have the Mazda mats. I baulked at the price at first, but because they fit perfectly and have a three year warranty I'm pretty happy. If they wear out... I'll be asking for a new set.

Call around, different dealers have different prices... I think I paid about $130 for mine from a parts department, the other dealer in town was nearly twice as much

Yeah, the floor mats are a tad expensive. I got the dealer to throw in a set with the car. So I guess is you keep at the dealer you'll be able to work something out.

Got my mats thrown in too. Always handy because they're a template for later ... may even go red with black edging. (I'd be surprised if L&L didn't jump at a yellow set if they were the right shade!)

There's nothing like rolling out the red carpet
