Faulty Clutch Bearing?

Howdy all ... I think this is the first thread I've started in this forum for ... ever!

Anyway, I got a problem with my clutch, when I depress the pedal when I'm taking it out of gear and the car's movign slowly it makes a flapping noise sometimes. I have a feeling something's broken in the assembly too because I can feel it slipping sometimes ... Mazda say there's nothing wrong with it though, but I think they're bluffing now, 'cos it's not getting worse, it's just there!

If anyone else had/has this problem ... I'm booking my car in for a service in the next fortnight so I want to have a full magazine before I go in.

Thought so ... well, I've complained three services in a row, they say it's nothing ...

... do they have to fix it under warranty?

I think it happens to the normalest of the normal car.

I doubt you can ask them to look at the trust bearing for you, that is at least 6 hour-person job.

Yeah, but it's not normal on my cars. I lasted my clutch assembly 225000kms on my MX6. If it's rattling and it's the thrust bearing, they're paying for the clutch! It's been like it since the 30k service and it's now giving me the *****!

Yeah, that noise is normal ... but when I disengage the gear, I get a flap flap flap flap flap from the gearbox area.

I think you have mentioned you take your car to Kirwans...I wouldnt raise it there as they HATE that issue. I have a laugh with them whenever I pop in. There is a TSB in the US stating that its normal noise.

EDIT: Just went to look for it and cant find it...must have imagined it

noise in neutral with clutch out is normal.. gear rollover, input shaft spinning.

I took that to be the "normal" noise...just thought there was a TSB stating it was normal.

I drive pretty smoothly, it's just at the top of the driveway almost every time I drive in I get a flap flap flap from my gearbox.

The sound it makes is quite disconcerting ... I'd much rather not have that flappy noise coming from my gearbox if I can help it.

I've never had a similar problem although I'm having a hard time understanding just what it is you're experiencing.

Umm ... ok, yeah ... soooooo

The problem we're experiencing, which may not even be a problem, is a flapping noise coming from the front end of the gearbox.
