exhaust for rx8?

i heard that re-amemiya and hks exhausts are the only exhausts which boost performance for the rx8... between the two, which one performs better?

Since running NO muffler at all gives you 5 HP I doubt these two can do better. Exhaust mods to stock RX-8 are for looks & sound.

"Stock production engine - with muffler removed +5 HP"

Can I say neighter... if JDM is your thing. R Magic claims the best figure.

R Magic claims 13-14ps

while
RE Amemiya claims 10ps
HKS about 10ps also...

But I ABSOLUTELY agree with expo on the point that it is a $1000 for looks and sound.

Then Hymee is the first choice.

I go for Fujitsubo for its sound and hand made quality. It claims to give 3kW at wheel so about 5 ps. You expect to pay about $1800-$2000 for an HKS/Amemiya. Nojooc, your one is about $1800 mark right?

If you really looking for performance. Sway bar, strut bar and suspension first. I am not having fun increasing power at present :o

If I claim mine makes lots of HP, does it really mean anything?

I generally find people like "my" one for three reasons...

- Sound
- Looks
- Build quality.

Cheers,
Hymee.

PS - Plus of course it is one of the few ways they can get a Hymee Enhanced sticker / decal :D

GO Hymee, you can go no better. It's local shopping and what's more some of the profit is going to the tsunami appeal.
(He might even throw in a short shifter for about $350 if you ask politely!)

Guys, I've been reading an interesting thread about porting of the RENESIS. it seems the exhaust ports themselves are the reason it is proving difficult to get power gains from better exhaust systems, or no exhaust at all. The exhaust exits the center and end plates via a 90 degree turn due to a coolant gallery being in the way. This is terrible for gas flow so some serious thought is being put into remedying this by Rotarygod and others.

The following thread is a really interesting read, perhaps sometime soon people here in Aust will start experimenting with exhaust porting! (perhaps in conjunction with supercharging?) The results should be interesting!!

Yeah I read that but not in full detail.

I am sure RotaryGod is guarded on his comment about porting. He seems to say there will be more problems created than solved.

I am sure anything increase gas expiration will help and I agree that it is near the engine rather than near the rear bumper

...... result WILL be very interesting.

Right Hymee?

I am *sure* my car feels at least 5Kw more powerful since I fitted my Hymee! And that's before the excellent look and sound it gives the car. Can't get better!

Legamax catback was bought from:

Xspeed

Racing Suction was from:

BD4s

BD4s are the official distributor for HKS, so you can also order the exhaust from them.

As for installation, I did them myself with the use of a hoist to fit the catback.

www.rmagic.net. Browse throught he Janpanese. or buy the next RX-7 mag and I AM SURE there is a 2 sided ads in the mag, they are kind of huge in Japan but not overseas.

R Magic did a lot of RX-7s.

It is not JIC. JIC have totally different factories.

I agree with apana. I had my Hymee aluminised exhaust fitted a few weeks ago and it sounds magic....not only did it take only 30 mins to install (timed) but the price was right and I got TWO HYMEE ENHANCED STICKERS. :D
