Ah, sorry - in a silly mood (situation normal the unkind would say
). What Taka said - safe mode methinks.

The check engine light comes on, and the car goes into limp mode for a variety of reasons including many simple, and not serious errors (eg, if you spin the car -- hence Revolver's comment). You just need to get it to a dealer, who will check it all out for you.
Let us know the outcome

er, um, well, it's like this....you do a few laps of a track with DSC on...thinking, hey -- this is easy. So the next time, you think "I can handle this with DSC off, no worries". So, having got in touch with your inner ********, you switch DSC right off, then launch back on to the track and over drive -- exactly as you did with DSC on, braking late and turning too late into the corner...where DSC was saving you before. Now, because you turned in too late, the car is understeering...so you back off...and whatty-hooooo...the tail snaps around. Two choices: throttle or brake; if you boot it, usually you will execute 180, 270, 360 or even more degrees of spin; but if you brake, things will just come to a nice, safe stop.
