Encyclopaedia RX8 Australianis

Okay, bit of a slow news day this afternoon while waiting for some clients to arrive and I had an idea for a thread with a bit of fun involved.

Kindly submit entries for the Encyclopaedia RX8 Australianis. In other words, a who's who of the Aussie forum with a distinct roast smell to it.

I'll kick off with Gomez.

The Gomez (also known as "Shiftus Bastardas" or "The Anti-Troll")
The Gomez is from the genus RX8 Mexicanus. It roams over a large cyber territory and is particularly adept at identifying and penetrating the camouflage of its hapless pretender prey. A prickly beast, it can strike without warning, usually in short sharp bursts. Its kryptonite comes in the form of Peugot cars and the mere mention of same will induce a pyromanic pre-emptive strike. It prides itself on a peerless knowledge of RX8 trivia and is only too happy to support more junior members of the species when that knowledge is required. It lurks on eBay sniffing over the detritus of others and occasionally snaps up a bargain. Other characteristics include early shifting and pristine rims. Not to be trifled with however, once you earn its trust, it can be approached with less caution.

Look forward to seeing some more.

Takahashi; (wannabeus racerus).
The Takahashi habitat is littered with the corpses of pplaterus stupiditus. A particularly competitive species, the Takahashi will think nothing of trading a large amount for a small competitive advantage. Particularly fond of oriental baubles, a Takahashi will roam far and wide to slake it's desires. Highly intelligent, it survives and thrives by sheer dent of it's brainpower. Just as well, cos if it was a tyrechanger, it'd be bloody well extinct by now......

Revolver, rotatus revolvus, or (old classification) spinnus revolvus, an unusually strange creature in this habitat, where he appears wigless, but is neverthless constantly seen (not to mention heard and read). Also known to be aquatic and rumoured also to speak underwater (unfortunately, several observers drowned trying to determine this). Despite constant noise and clear attention seeking behaviour he avoids predators either by timely interventions or disappearing completely, often for moments on end, only to return with a short, sharp jab to complete the issue. Despite observed extrovert behaviour, his natural plumage is grey although recent observations suggest some preening has taken place for the new season. A more serious side effect of this is the observed tendency for his belly to be closer to the ground, which he claims adds stability

Lock&Load Virtualis Womaniserus (extinct)
Known for its friendly and talkative nature and appetite for bones, this rare species was once regularly seen at carrion sites, picking over the remains of arguments. Had an especially unusual effect on donkeys, who were often found without their hind quarters after encounters.
Plumage: distinguished by grey-white growth around bill, with gold highlights worn during the mating season (Friday and Saturday nights)
Call: Beee-freee repeated ad nauseam, throughout the year.
Habitat: Bars behind beaches on the upper east coast of Australia.
Sightings: Rumours are rife of recent sightings of this species under the name Grizzly8 but they have so far proved baseless.

yellowrx8inoz: canarium coolum
Despite being a member of the "older generation", this species oozes coolness from head to toe. Unlike its forefathers who were sent to this country from the UK for minor criminal indiscretions, this species migrated of its own volition after many years sharpening its skills in etiquette and decorum. Unlike it's close relative " the whineging pom" , this species is quietly spoken and has an excellent command of the english language.

Easily identifiable by its bright yellow plumage, it is a very rare breed that for reasons unknown has ceased mating and hence reproducing. This particular example has undergone extensive plastic surgery including nosejob, wing, ears and skirts. For those unfortunate enough to not have seen this species, here is a photo from a recent sighting.

The Timbo (also known as "Nattus Legendus")
A shrewd and wily beast, the Timbo has evolved to consultant status, thus maximising return for least effort. Residing in a sterile and weather challenged habitat, it has occasionally resorted to Volvos and Range Rovers for transportation. However, it does possess some redeeming features. It was instrumental in ensuring that the first gathering of this still relatively new species was successful and did not descend into violence. Although no longer a member of said species, it has settled into the retired elder role nicely and attempts to curb the excesses of younger specimens by extruding its inner *****, which is said to be quite large when inflamed. Perhaps fearing a descent into old age, it retains a penchant for bright red plumage and currently sports a carapace that appeals to female hairdressers, perhaps in the hope of attracting the attentions of same. The less said about the belly of the Timbo, the better.

The Auzoom wombatis longus.

Despite a surprisingly tall frame, the wombatis is a swift creature. It’s habitat is in the southern climes where it remains, apart from an annual pilgrimage to the north where it participates in strange rituals of flashy display and daring. Strangely these displays rarely attract the female of the species so there purpose quite unfathomable.

Whilst some of the other creature that gather such as the Roddis Fastis and the Biggus MACCAS only venture onto the hard packed tracks, the wombatis is sometimes found rooting around in the paddocks, often creating huge clouds of dust as it goes about it’s mysterious business.

The creature is semi nocturnal & highly social, frequently observed during the day but rarely in full song until the sun goes down.

And as a wise man once said….."beautiful plumage"… a rare shade of blue.

MikeyR Mikus redbackus beerus
An illusive creature, very hard to track down. So named for its love of the Redback Beer it loves to consume from its fellow arexusaterus ownerus, one Victus Brewerus (or better known as Brewer).

It has been spotted in numerous places from the far isles of New Zealand to the sorry shores of Sydney. It has been known to migrate long distances in short periods of time for the annual gathering of the arexusaterus ownerus. While at this gathering, it has been known to shun its sole purpuse of being, the arexusaterus, for the bizzare minnius cooperus. The only reasoning found for this strange behaviour is to cause disent and uproar amongst its fellow arexusaterus ownerus bretheren, leaving opportunity for him to aquire more of its favour sustenance.

When the sun goes down, the MikeyR undergoes a transformation from an upright, nimble creature around the tracks of the arexusaterus ownerus, to a reclined yet extremely conversational creature with many exquisit traits, such as opening the bottle of its prefered sustenance with a fork, and repeatedly droping said sustenance over, and over again. After consuming copious quantities of its favoured sustenance, it has been know to offer up to fellow arexusaterus ownerus the famed Port of the Bastardos.

Lazyicus Markus

Lazyicus Markus is an interesting creature. Often found lurking in the corridors of places of entertainment and folly in the southern realm of the country. His demeanour some describe as somewhat disinterested, however this genous has evolved to use very little energy. He can often be seen sitting quietly studying his environment and looking for the easiest path to follow. That being said he is quite nimble when he actually gets going, somewhat like a scorched cat, however he can make strange gear selection choices which sees him hitting the redline before others of this species.
His plumage is black, however at times it's hard to tell, the dusty envrions of his habitat dulling his once luxurious colour.
He will at times manage to meet with other arexusaterus ownerus but on rare occasions and has been known to lose all track of time and days.
Spotted on the rare occasion he will retreat quickly to the place once he came and only really comes out in the dead of night making it hard for him to socialise with the "day dwelling" arexusaterus ownerus.
A gentle soul not known to exhertion he has a pleasing personality but some say his genous is heading for extinction!

the taka: arexatus expertus aka the stig

The taka is a creature with a dual personality. Whilst commonly found in its arexatus expertus form scouring the forums for every opportunity to enlighten the less knowledgable in the ways of the 8, it occasionally dons the white helmet to disguise itself as the all track conquering stig.

In its arexatus expertus form, the taka is a mild mannered, gentle creature that posts regularly and has the rest of the forum members exclaiming WTF? after reading its words of technical wisdom. So determined is the taka to keep others informed, that it regularly provides non 8 related pearls of wisdon regarding everything from loading up on carbs before extended bike rides to espousing the beauty of mrs taka and little taka. No doubt, we will all be treated to images and video of the arrival of little taka V2.

BUT , don't be fooled.

When the taka switches from arexatus expertus form to stig form by placing the shiny, polished white helmet on its cranium, it becomes a ruthless track animal determined to hunt down and devour any form of automobile that might be in front of it. A word of warning: Keep out of its way!!!

A phenomenon unique to the taka is its ability to evaluate and discuss future modifications to improve its track hunting ability whilst transforming back to the arexatus expertus form.
