Question Driving Event

Did anyone received a letter from mazda about the driving events? My dealer told me that the letter should be here by the end of May. Anyone heard of it as well???

I’m from Sydney.

I've got one on pre-order based in Brissie. No letter from Mazda yet, so I called my dealer direct. He said Brisbane will get the first drive of the RX8 in Australia being the 4th of July at the Willowbank Raceway. Apparently, he was reading out from an email from Mazda. The local dealers get to look at the car for the first time on the 5th of July.

He also forwarded me a .pdf document from Mazda Australia detailing all the accessories with photos and RRP.

Can't upload here as .pdf isn't an acceptable filename.

I called my dealer last Thursday asking about the drive event, seeing as the covering letter with the book said that the date and location would be confirmed by the end of May.

As usual the salesman had no information other than to say that I would receive a letter soon (pretty vague huh !) I'm pretty certain the Sydney event is going to be held at Eastern Creek race track though.

Winning, how about renaming the pdf file to another file extension so that you can upload it to the forum ? We can then download it and change the filename back to it's original.

It depend on your Acrobat version, I think. My Acrobat reader is the free software, which is limited to viewing. The safest bet is to use print screen, trim and save it using Micosoft paint, or photoshop under jpg or bmp.
jpg is better because of the size of the file.

Hey Winning....

email me the PDF and I'll put it up on a little web-page for everyone to be able to download.

I guess it would be good to have a reference page for all things "australian" woiuldn't it.

Does anyone else have anything specific they'd want loaded up?

PDF doc with all accessory pics/prices is about 650kb.

Unable to upload here as a reply as i'm limited to about 100kb.

The PDF doc is 8 pages and I have separated them into 8 different JPG files of around 60-80kb each.

Let me know if anyone want's them emailed.

Received a letter today (12th June) dated 6th June from Mazda HQ about the drive event.

It confirms what richwu said that the Sydney event is to be held on Monday 28th July at Eastern Creek. There are two sessions during the day, one at 9:30am and another at 2pm with lunch served in between.

I was kinda hoping to have taken delivery before then, but with the official launch on 1st August, maybe Mazda will hold off from releasing the first shipment of vehicles to their owners so that the first time any of us get to drive an RX-8 is at this event. Hopefully I'm wrong and we will have been driving our own cars for a week beforehand.
