The Jim Murcott one... I guess sometimes it is hard to get everyone free on the day.

hmmm, bit hard from brisbane.

But if anyone wants to I can organise a skidpan day here in brisbane.

I know the guys at Mt Cotton, and I have been out there. It is really good afternoon or day out. It is how you learn to drift etc.
All about going sideways.

I will post another thread to gauge interest.

Yup done it. It's decent, professionally conducted, but heavily focussed on defensive driving and braking. We had ZERO track time the whole day, apart from numerous low speed emergency braking exercises. I had no idea the RX8 could go so slow, so well!So don't get excited about having a blast around the circuit. Without any prompting at all 7 Rx8's turned up on our day. That's a lot of collective frustration!

Choppy this was my third advanced driver course, so yes for me it was all old news. I guess more than half the day was spent in the "classroom", studying things like driving position, braking distances, skid control etc. The only trackwork involved emergency braking under various conditions from speeds in the 50-70km/hr range. You do get to learn just how much better the 8 stops than anything else at the course though!

If you haven't been on an advanced driving course before I am sure you will walk away with at least some new and useful info. And doing this course is the only way you will be eligible for higher level Murcott's courses that Mazda has been considering offering to RX-8 owners. Worth the time then, even though it was kind of frustrating for me.....
