Thumbs down Cusco 2e Coil-overs All too Hard for AUS/NZ Distributor

A couple of weeks ago I e-mailed the AUS/NZ distiributor of the Cusco coil-overs. I got a response after a follow-up query by myself some days later.

All good, at this stage. I'm advised that :

A SET OF MAZDA RX8 THEY ONLY MAKE ZERO 2 E FOR THESE CARS
THE PRICE IS $2396.00 NZ DEPENDING WHAT WEIGHT SPRINGS YOU REQUIRE
YOU COULD FIT ZERO 2R WITH A BIT OF MODIFACATION
THE PRICE IS $2938.00 NZ

The 2E's sound good and I'm still interested and ask a few more questions:

What choice of spring rates are available (I am looking for firm but not bone and chassis breaking), what do you recommend?
Does the kit come with the electronic damper control included?
Are they serviceable?
What is the warranty and how do you handle warranty issues?
Is the cost inclusive of any import taxes?
I am in Sydney, do you have a local distributor?

Wait a few more days for a response and received the following:

SORRY MATE THIS IS ALL TO HARD FOR ME TRY AND SOURCE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE

At least it was an honest response. Needless to say, I am no longer interested. Given that this company is the AUS/NZ distributor even if I could source them locally I would not want to improve his revenue albeit indirectly.

Follow this link to find out who the distributor is:

http://www.cusco.co.jp/english/agency_b.html

If you are intersted in a new set of coil-overs and you would like something called customer service, you might want to look elsewhere.

Let's say that they didn't make my day and won't get a second chance.

Cheers

Well high margin and low service. It is not like a true Australian company. At least the service used to be good.

Otto, have you consider our OzRenesis importer in Melbourne?

Cusco probably wouldn't care ... they're so big it probably doesn't matter.

My thoughts exactly. Once I figure out who to email teh transcript to at Cusco I intend to. Cromax might be tight and not care but not providing feedback guarrantees nothing will happen.

Not yet but I will have a look. Andrew suggested that I talk to Henry at RMS Motor Parts.

Otto,

R U talking about the guys in NZ? They were pretty good when I contacted them? But Drew's website link is going to be cheaper. I got a quote on the struts and the NZ pric was about 20% more.

Yes, (assuming that they are the one and only distributor in NZ). I'm glad that your exprience was better than mine. Apart from the spring rates the rest of the questions I raised should have been no brainers for them. No matter, their loss.

I have checked out the site Drewman recommended and will purchase through them.

Cheers.... Otto
