Thumbs up Contacting Malcolm Gough CEO MAZDA

I have written to the CEO of mazda australia letting him know of the varies threads relating to the power output fiasco , maybe he can shed some light on this issue , i felt that they should be aware of possibel negative press that will effect sales of the rx8 if its not cleared up .

Mazda Australia are full of dick heads. I mean you hear it all the time.

Great product, rotten company.

Mazda America & Mazda Japan are fine, its just the Aussie company.

They are full of ******* that think they are above everybody & its actually them doing you the service. I dont live far from the head office (I'm near Ferntree Gully) & still wouldn't walk in there as I know what the attitude is like.

I have written to Big Mal before & never gotten a response so all I can say is best of luck but dont hold your breath.

the US thread on running a rx-8 on a dyno has come to a consensus that you shouldn't do it until 4000mi has been clocked up. apparently, a guy from mazda japan's engineering warned against it until 4000mi. something to do with the engine management running a run setting on the engine. they say that it will switch to the normal mixture after 4000mi and will be at rated power output.

any thoughts on this?

also my brother (donaldc) got hold of the mazda australia rx-8 promotional cd. quite interesting stuff on it. the car has tyre pressure sensors. also an auxillary air intake that opens up after 7.5k on the tach. i didn't know half of these features. i better watch the whole cd.

mktchin , i have read the thread relating to dyno ing the rx8 only after x amount of miles .

Surely if that was causing the lower output situation why dont mazda head office officially come out and make such a statement , it should be left to one of its enginners to veryfy this important bit of information .

The longer mazda stays silent on this issue the harder it becomes for anyone to believe that they are credible .

SO COME ON MAZDA GET OF YOUR ASSES AND CLEAR UP THIS ISSUE.

I drove the same demo on 3 separate occasions. The last time I drove it it seemed really down on SOP power. It had about 900km by then. But my wife reckoned it was quicker than my soon to be 'ex' SS (235rwkW).

Cheers,
Hymee.
