colouring the numberplate ?

just had a quick thought, and wondering whether it would be ok to colour the numberplate (i.e to redplate and white letters)
would that be liking tampering or breaking the law??
any thoughts?

Oh it is much of breaking the law... you cannot change anything in the plate.

Funny that is why the VicRoad has many colours for plate.

How many colours are there in NSW?

Some thought of spraying a layer so they can't see the number at an angle... I am sure you will get caught when the cop in the next lane. A Ferrari did that I am sure a cop will look at the car and pull him over.

I think Lock & Load can also comment on this also. Basically, you have to take the plate the registration authority gives you.

TIMBO

100% correct you cannot alter the materials used or the colour or size of your plates , a definite NO NO .

this is correct, you cannot modify the number plates in any way at all, if you want coloured ones, get them from the rta
www.rta.nsw.gov.au

But in Queensland you can get those plate in just about any reasonable colour combination, even multi coloured backgrounds. You just cant get the "Velocity Yellow letters on Country Cream backgound" option for obvious reasons.

Go have a look at www.ppq.com.au and design your own combo with "Create a Plate".

Cheers,
Hymee.
