Hey guys,

Just another maintenence sorta thing, would 10w-40 in a 04' RX8 be suitable all year round with Victorias weathers. Any better recommendations please post here.

Yes, but try to ensure the car gets a good warm up.

 

Been using Penrite HPR 5, found that the engine uses a lot less oil...don't know if this is a good thing or not...Promaz swears by it. I will find out if deteriorates as quickly as MRO in Hot conditions. Might start using Mobil 1 fully synthetic...from next oil change.

 

I've been advised by Simon that if we're to go synthetic, Mobil 1 isn't the way to go. Apparently it cokes up. He said Motul is good, Penrite is good, not sure about Castrol Edge, but I wanted to ask him about it next time I see him ... may be sooner rather than later, I really want a new exhaust :P

 

Yea motul is supposed to be good too...not sure yet, really i still have plenty of penrite left 5L actually so wont be changing any time soon. Ive got a HKS hi power (lol at the name, makes me feel like a tool everytime i say it as we all know that exhausts give almost no gains) and it is INSANELY loud...but in the upper RPMs it sounds like a race car
