Five intrepid 8'smen for the drive --
pepe
Sqz
Revolver
Tim Tam
and yours truly
Great day, clear sunshine -- not particularly tricky roads, as we drove north to put Revolver back on the road to Sydney...but some great ...er...sections to demonstrate the 8's handling in normal driving conditions.
Ran the sCANalayser over each of the cars -- some interesting results -- two 'Kiwi' flashes, two "G" and one (Tim Tam's -- the newest) 'stealth' (I think I have that right?)
Few photo stops, stopped at the Do Duck Inn at Gunning for coffee...and then home
Thanks for coming, guys!

Interesting.. You guys sure don't like to be photographed - do you all work for ASIO or something!!!
On the Melbourne cruise there were no Titaniums, but on this cruise the Titaniums rule (not one yellow).. The Brisbane cruise will be interesting as there are at least two Titaniums going...
What does "stealth" mean??? Is that like the "H" I am supposed to have??? I am guessing that Tim Tam's car is from the same batch as mine???

Lots of fun driving involved... some of those corners at dusk were a bit tricky... without the benefit of seeing someone else do it first :P And going cross country on the roadworks... there's an experience to remember..
Thanks for the spin lads... love to see more pics :D

Yes, I think stealth is "H", but the numbering sequence has changed....(I know, I should search and produce facts rather than speculate...but am still grinning too much :D )
...and xxup, I gotta say -- look at the photos -- doesn't Velocity Red really show out ... this car was made for that colour (or vice-versa) :p :D
Yeah, pepe led us magnificently...but I suspect Tim Tam went home to immediately wash and polish his baby
As he's still running in, I gave him the pleasure of hearing the Hymee at full throttle in second, as I overtook him on an overtaking lane section

Hey guys.
Back in Sydney safe and sound. Just popped into work on the way back to drop off some stuff and could not resist hitting the forum.
A big thanks to the Canberra guys for making me feel so welcome and putting up with what can be a challenging sense of humour for some!!! :o
Special thanks to Timbo for bringing the scanalyser along. I'm now armed with the info needed to get my service guys onto updating the car.
Some great corners but for those wishing for harder suspension, I'd love to have been behind you on some of what the locals loosely call roads. Luckily, I only had one in front of me in the gravel sections!!!
And I did get into one of the photos - I think that rules me out of spy school.
Better get home. Look forward to seeing you guys again either here or down there (or inbetween).
:D

Next time, bring Gibbo with you :pSeriously, it was great to meet you. Having such excellent taste in cars clearly makes us kindred spirits, in many respects
It was a fun blast that bit from Gunning out to the highway. I was amused to watch Steve cruising down the highway following us along, with a flash going off in his car every few minutes. That boy is camera happy!
We need to see if we can crack the 10 attendee mark for a coast trip. Put those Sydney boys to shame.
By the way, after yesterday's drive I'm about to crack the 1000km mark!!!

Great afternoon guys. :D :D Even if it was a bit dusty back there.
I'll post my pickies shortly, depending how the artistic thing with the sunset and Tim Tams blue turned out. Gotta entertain yourself somehow on the highway.

Hey Timbo
I just priced a flick key
(gotta keep up with the Tims
)
This was from Slaven:
$190 Electronics
$ 60 Key
$ 50 Programing
$ ? Cutting
Thats half a Hymee exhaust...... for a key
Prices will be better if I order it through Corkhill's. But still sounds over complicated. Know of any shortcuts?

I got the key and the fob for $185 -- 'special price' !
The cutting cost about $25, from memory, and I think you could do better than that -- it's not a particularly special key
You can program the key yourself -- here's the
DIY on it.
The key serves no purpose other than (a) a smaller bulge in your pocket :o (b) to give other owners of 03 early 04 cars the *****
:p (c) to show you have more dollars than sense

Or maybe "That's not a key... THIS is a <flick sound> key".... :D
