Arrow Canberra Owners (and prospectives): Meet & Greet

Ok, I'll set the ball rolling.

Who would like to meet and chew the fat about the RX-8 over a beer of coffee sometime in the next two weeks (ie, by the end of 1st week of May)?

Please respond, and let me know a convenient location/times/dates. I am thinking of maybe Regatta Point, around Civic cos its central, but let me know where you are coming from.

How about next Thursday 28 April after work (5:30pm)? as a starter??

Tim

Hey timbo.

I've got a wedding down in Canberra this Saturday so heading down there saturday morning and out of there by sunday arvo. Pretty tight schedule but I'd love to have a look at the exhaust as my account is starting to hit the bling Hymee's asking for.

Is Sunday 1 May, at SuperCheap in Fyshwick an option? REACT is having a charity display in support of Diabetes Australia. see http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/fo...pic.php?t=63778

Works for me! Cept I don't have a Wankel to bring along. I'll have to bring the V8 or the bike.

Look like we'll have seven or eight cars. Don't worry Tim Tam -- plenty of reformed bent blockers here :D

Ok, looks like we have quite a bit of interest -- at least 7 or 8 cars.

I don't especially want to spend all day at the REACT display, but am happy to do from 11am until around 1pm

So, I propose we meet beforehand, and then drive as a group to the REACT display at Supa Cheap in Fyshwick

The proposed rendezvous point (1, on the map below) is outside Reliance Automotive at 9 Isa St Fyshwick (I have no connection, other than as a customer...it just seemed like a landmark). Meet at 10:45am

After a brief chat and intros, we drive to Supa Cheap at 151 Gladstone St at around 11:00am (2 on the map).

Around 1:00pm, we might head off for a coffee/beer and sandwich, perhaps at one of the cafes in Green Square at Kingston

Any questions, PM me

Tim

Keen for a cruise, but too much to do to hang around at the display all day... specially now I'm not the only 8 in REACT

Great to hear you're coming, pepe

Looks like we'll have maybe ten 8's meeting on Sunday. Have heard from the following:
jellybean
Thai
jk
Tim Tam
Sqz
ralph
pepe
XL ER 8
lucifuge (?)
...and me

Bring your cameras!

C'mon Tim Tam -- there's a choice of black, silver or even yellow 2nd hand 8's in town, and I see Slaven have a Titanium Shinka on their floor -- you'll make Gomez green with envy :p )

Timbo, you should be embarrassed being that organised! :p

So 11:00 at Reliance. Hang on, 10:45. I'm obviously the unorganised Tim.

I'll be there with bells on!

Thanks for coming, guys

Cool weather kept a couple of people in bed, methinks! :p

A couple of pics from our rendezvous, and here's the link to photos of the day

There's talk about a cruise in a couple of weeks, perhaps up to Corin. Start around 9:30 and back to Tharwa for lunch. Let me know if you are interested

Already checked with Rolfe In Belco, they're all sold out (long ago).

Looks like I'll have to settle for blue.

Sounds like you had a bit of fun freezing your nuts off the other day. :D

Am attending a conference in Canberra on last weekend in May. It finishes lunchtime on the Sunday.

Wouldn't mind meeting some of you guys, checking out whatever mods you've done and shooting the breeze generally before I drive back to Sydney.

How do you feel about arranging to meet somewhere and maybe cruise some interesting backroads for an hour or so?

Revolve,
Sounds like a good idea but first I have to find myself an 8! The gearbox in the Fairmont packed it in again at lunch so I'll be 8 shopping this weekend.
Stay tuned.

Don't just shop in Canberra. Let your fingers do the walking. The best price I found was in Sydney. I had my local dealer beat that quote.

Gomez.

That'll be Sunday 29th. I'd be up for it, although a pm drive on a Sunday is always a bit risky. Maybe we'll drive out to Gundaroo (which takes you towards Sydney) for a coffee. Thoughts, anyone?
