Bugz bugz dead bugz

Well we did 1600kms in the car from Wednesday last week to last night. We drove along back roads and by roads and had a blast.....gee this car can go fast!! Not too shabby I can tell you! We got great fuel economy specially since I forgot to fill up in Naracoorte and then rolled into Cavendish Vic on fuel vapours....got a little over 500kms to a tank!! That economy with a full car and me thrashing it!! Too cool.

Killed lots of bugs...ran over a stick that has dented the drivers door and saw a lot of dirt roads....the diff had a ball, locking up all over the place! Took some shots of the car before his bath today. GLad I got the Hymee grille or those bugs would be in my coolers....not good.... Killed lots of dragonflies as well...but not another animal was harmed in the travels....some of it at warp speed!

The other photo is the car with my slightly smaller Honda wheels on the car cause the tyres are soooo quiet and the Mazda tyres are getting way too noisy...sound like rally tyres... NOT HAPPY with THE BRIDGIES at all.... to noisy...rrr rrrr rrrr rrrr as I drive along....

Aw, c'mon Julia!

With your skills, I thought you would have dodged the bugs like that monk did in the (Lexus?) ad.

LOL I wasn't going to get close enough to the front of the car to look. I know there were about 5 drag flys. But I think that I would have been in trouble once I got to the border with all dem bugs....they all died for a good cause...RX8 breaking the sound barrier!! Whats the go with the 100km/hr limit in Vic?? TOO SLOW AMIGO!! My speedo goes much higher than that.....no I was reasonably good only got to 150 km/hr......only for a short burst and then behaved!!

Revolver it was more like the Castrol ad! Plus I am an athiest!!

Truly no sooner had we cleaned the windscreen than there were millions of dead ones on there again!! Then when we got the car washed....several bees landed on the bonnet....almost in condolence to their dead mexican comrades!! P

No comments on my little wheels....how about this close up...waiting for the comments LOL I know they look too small!!!

Na... I have the USA Mazda one, but it only works if you have a POV pack.. If you keep the lining clean and only fit it to a clean waxed car then there should be no problems.. But they can be a pain to fit if you have a hymee grille.. The other trick is not to use it all the time - last time we used the bra was the trip to the Nats..

nah....keep it well waxed...the car, I mean Then wash it off as soon as you can after the trip. I used to travel Canberra-Sydney and return each week, and got lots of bugs. That was the best way of keeping it as bug free as possible. Of course, there are still stone chips, but that's what happens on our roads

Car bras always look naff, and are a sure sign of **** retentiveness

Hey that bra looks really good. I would blow a valve trying to fit it though!

I agree Timbo, took it to the car wash guys who pressure wash the car and all that stuff while we had a coffee! All da bugs came off, but I did find some little ones stuck in the indicator on the bumper that I will have to get out and for Taka I will bury them.

It's the inside I have to clean this weekend...it;s all dusty windows down on dirt roads and some wheelies!

Ps. MissyK it's raining here now....you might get that rain in the arvo take a jumper!

Coarse surface road noise was my major gripe with the 8 (and all previous Mazdas, I might add). Especially once the 040's became quite worn....and even more so if, by some chance, you had somehow flat-spotted one

Agreed.

I'd rather keep the polish up and re-spray the nose in due course (or get a MS nose...).

They look absolutely crap!!! Get 'em off now!!!

...just kidding. They look fine and if they dampen the road noise it's all good.
