Question The best colour to suit the 8 ?? - take the vote

Most people would say that Beemers look best in black, the Benz in silver and the 911 in Red. Certain colours more than others simply bring out the best in a car. Black can look fantastic but be a nightmare to keep clean ...so why bother, when you can have silver which looks great as well ??

The marketing can have so much to do with it ....ie. yes the velocity red looks fanatastic ! ....but, it's all been done to death in red.

Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder ! What do you guys think ... what is the standout colour for the RX-8 ?

Place your vote and show us your pics. ie. why ?

When the TT was coming out you had a choice of three colours for the Quattro - silver, blue or black. I chose black because the silver was in my mind what everyone would pick (being the car in the adds) - and the blue just wasn't that nice.

When the TT was clean it looked pretty good. That was basically once a week. Driving about near the ocean seems to cover black cars with a misty film...

I walked into the showroom and lucked into the red. I would have ordered silver, but my choice was 3 to 4 weeks v's 3 to 4 months wait.

I'm extremely happy with the red. It looks pretty clean between washes and is really magic in the sunshine.

The downside is that the red and the yellow attract the most attention and impede my ability to slither about without being noticed.

I was tempted by Titanium but saw so much marketing in Red (and have had red cars before) that that's what I chose.

Like Kev, am very pleased

I wonder if this poll was re-run now, what the outcome would be, now that I suspect there's a lot more RX8 owners about?

For my money I had a Winning Blue shipped in for me ( apparently it was tagged for Germany - by I know boats! )

Black seems to loose a lot of the magic of the lines and body shape.

Red is done to death, and I know it's prolly crap but I swear cops target red cards.

Yellow - hmm..

the silver(s) and charcoals are not bad..

But from all the colors I've seen in real live ( as apposed to the pix in the sales material I drooled over for the three weeks before my car arrived ) the blue is the one color that said "wow" to me every time I saw it!

Velocity red is so many different colours... (btw, they're not blemishes, it's so reflective it's hard to stay out of photos!)

The one and only colour IMHO.

Red : have had 4 cars in red too common .

Silver:great colour but not for sports cars .

Titanium :flavour of the month dull in a sports car.

Green :great colour if your irish too dark get black .

Black:fashionistas , have become slaves to their cars too hot and constantly need s washing.

Blue : great colour fun but wife has similar blue on her honda>

YELLOW:bright fun sporty ,safe and the winning colour for the rx8 IMHO.

Erm..

surely you're all aware that Mazda themselves have already made this decision for us?

"Winning blue"?

Says it all doesn't it?!

Hate being the bearer of bad news , in todays motoring section of the courier mail.

thecouriermail.com.au on page3 article written by Mark Hinchliffe titled

buyers hot for new colours.it says: WHITE AND RED ARE OUT.

"Red used to be the only colour for sport cars .Now red has also declined as people are wanting a change from the old colours "

Sorry boys your red cars are like models ,however they are last years models .

Rest my case .

No one likes Nortic Green? Personally, I didn't like it in the brochure, but when i saw it in person, I fell in love with the color.

Gotta black one and a blue one....

Hmmmmm.... after you Zaino the Winning Blue... Man it is fantastic. We have people stopping us, coming across the street, cars pull up and cruise beside looking.....

Then we did the black one with Zaino.... Bad to the Bone..... When clean... its killer.....

If I had to pick...

Blue

No Black

Ah who cares I like em both.

Red, or blue for me. For the '8 I just had to get it in VelocityRed. Now tickets yet either - the cops simply can't keep up!

An 8 in silver would have been the only choice 3 or 4 years ago... before the whole world discovered how well it suits almost every motorcar. I could still live with it, however 2 teenage daughters say NO to a 3rd silver car in a row ( currently sti which replaced a wrx).

So what do you order if you like silver? dark silver of course.

(I have done my homework: as we live on a dirt road, respectable whilst dusty is an important criterion. Just before we had to commit, within one hour in Sydney I saw a not-quite-clean velocity then a grubby titanium. No Argument.)

You remind me of the tarted up, big eared chimp penny robinson had as a pet on the original lost in space tv series. :D

reminds me a that old joke...

What goes green, green, green, red, green, green, red, green, red, red, green, red, red, red, red, red?

frog in a blender

Ah, dear little Bloop,

I really wanted one of those! Still do - prolly the only pet that could easily cope with the G's experienced during the cornering of a well driven RX8 with those little sucker pads * grin *

Never mock my dear Bloop, for Bloop is all knowing, all powerful, golden.. Bloop is the saviour, you can see the truth in the eyes of Bloop - behold the greatness of Bloop..

Hee hee.. ROTFL!

++dez;

ps: you did note the color of Bloop of course..

pps: a frog falling into a switched on blender would be a bit of a "blue" wouldn't you say ( gotta love using aussie coloquialisms in a debate or emotives on the color base of a cars love - ah me thinks all is not well in the state of RX8 land! )
