Bathurst 12 Hour

Production car racing is back at Bathurst this Sunday. There will be an interesting array of cars. There is a $125 000 cap of on the value of the production vehicle permissable in this competetion.

Mazda won this race when they last competed with the RX 7.

I understand there will be RX 8's competing.

Yep, Timbo's right. I checked the entry list too.

Maybe the racers decided it doesn't have the torque for this circuit. Fuel economy over the 12 hour period might also have been factored into the equation.

I reckon the 335i's are going to be the ones to watch.

Interested to see if the 3 MPS makes the distance too.

It is dissapointing to see that there are no RX 8's. There was a news report that said that Mazda and other factory teams pulled out because the organisers allowed the cars to be modified. Most of the modifications where to do with suspension and cooling thus aiding the turbo Subarus and the boat like Commodores. Apparently these are the only two factory teams represented.
