Angry Back of suicide doors paint peeling.

Hi Everyone

The space between my suicide door on the drivers side and the back of the car ( The space where the hinge is ) the paint has starting to crack and peel.

I hardly use the back doors really, i noticed as i was getting into the car this morning that they are peeling in two different location about a cm away from each other.

Its clearly not a scartch but a peel. What does everyone think? Would Mazda do something about it the car is only 3 months old.

Car is Sunlight silver.

I have not had a chance to take pictures as yet but will be doing so first thing as soon as i get home, i was to busy swearing as i got into the car.

The peel is accuring about ten cm down from the top of the door right at the back.

What to do now

Not very happy and really pissed off about this. Not even my 10 year old lancer started peeling...

Why i ever bothered putting paint protection on the car i would never know.

Pics to follow tonight

Regards

phillip

hi choppy,
sorry to hear about your paint woes it is really bad news.
hopefully it is just some clear coat or protective wax?

are you expecting a new car?
if there is paint peeling how can anyone be sure of the paint integrity in areas we can't check? They'll prob just respray the area.

hope you can find a happy solution.

Thanks man i hope the solution is happy and quick.. im not expecting a new car and i dont want one, i love my RX8, even if it was a new one the love and care i have shown for this one words can not explain

I mean i know the paint job on our cars are very bad.. We can see this just by opening our doors where the paint robot missed a few or used less paint to fill.

But in a very visable spot its bad.. Looks like the car got sun burnt. I suggest many of you go check your cars,

This should/could be related to people that found the boot peeling also.

Regards
Phillip

philip,

call up your dealership and tell them there is a defect on the paint work. it should be fixed under warranty.

good luck.

thats should be enough. dont think your 8 will be repaired at the service centre anyway........ it will be going to one of the mazda approved body shops.

it was just excess wax.

i dont know how it got there, prob the paint protection crap.

I got really close with a magifing glass and used a blade to scrape at it.

After i did that a few times it started coming off but the paint was perfect underneith thank god.

The area effected was the panel with the gap in between were the suicide door hinges away.

That is great news. I'm glad you did not have to resort to yelling at them

Cheers,
