Hmmmm...... great pics Taka, can't say much has changed over the last few years.

6 years ago I entered my EK Civic in the Autosalon and as a matter of principle, have never entered nor attended it again.

Quite frankly, I learnt that you modify your car to suit your individual taste and often, other people do not share the same taste as you, so "rice" in private and don't share your bad taste with the public.

My EK could have been described as "extra Ricey" and was in hindsight, quite a ridiculous and embarrassing car, all show, no go, even though some thought it was "fully sick" and "hectic".

Seems this is the general consensus with most Autosalon entries, 90% are ridiculous shopping trollies fitted with 100kgs of fibreglass, filled with the hide of 40 cows, more chrome than a Harley convention, painted/airbrushed with more paint than Da Vinci would have used in a lifetime and after seeing it all you think, why bother?

Admittedly the other 10% do represent the perfect synergy of performance, style and importantly, class. These ones are rare and they are the cars you look at and think, wow!

To cut a long post short, I guess it is appropriate that it is called the "Auto Salon", with the operative word being "salon" since its full of posers and hairdressers.
If I wanted to look at pink or purple or orange cars owned by hairdressers, I would hang out on Oxford St. :p

Doesn't matter how much money you throw at an (insert name of shopping trolley) at the end of the day, it's still the same car and you haven't gained any additional crediblity. :D

Cars are to be driven and enjoyed, not trailered and only for display.

If Mazda Australia has really supplied us the 177kw 13B they have quoted, this should equate to anywhere between 125kw to 140kw at the wheels factoring in drivetrain loss.

So I agree, 104kw is a load of crap, the power output figure that is, not your car AMUSE.

Your car is part of that rare 10% minority I was talking about.

totally agree with nojooc re: autosalon
however, each to their own and there are alot of ppl spending his/her hard earned $$$ on their cars instead of drugs/casino.... anyway, thats a different story.
AMUSE's car looked great and if i were you, i wouldnt worry too much about the dyno readout at the autosalon. the operator can actually "adjust" the settings/loading on the dyno to give false readings, and yes, it is true. sometime you have to wonder how come that car won that award...... you know, at the end of the day, its how well you know that "someone"...

Me and AMUSE did dyno at some other place and we did get about 140 kw on the wheels.

So i guess something wrong with dyno there.

Also one of the team ELITE's DC2 dyno at other place have got 135 Kw i think.
and only got 120something at autosalon.~~~~~~~

wht i can say the 106kw ......different dyno have different figure...there is no straight measurment about who is right and who is wrong.......by the way as my fd said if u believe yr car got more kw or power than my car go down to calder see who can do the better time..and tell me is it u think yr car will got more.....or ask the other blackRX8 owner in the show (promaz ask them to ut it on the dyno and see how.....if his car got more then wht i do.....i do accept wht u siad i"t is load of crap"!!!
