Ariel Atom 2 TEST DRIVE ANYONE????!!!

Twenty four tickets have just been released for an Atom driving experience at Oran Park on Monday July 4th, 2005

http://www.openwheelers.com.au/drive.htm

have the guys seen this thing???
it's unbelievable!!! it's also been featured on top gear having been raced a bike at the top gear test track and won!!!

A $67000 NZD car is faster than a porche Carerra GT!!! which costs like a million dollars

for specs visit http://www.openwheelers.co.nz/

The Ariel Atom 2 is currently offered for sale as a road vehicle in New Zealand and a track vehicle in Australia. Compliance work is being undertaken to allow road use of the Atom in all states of Australia.

So anyone is goona go test drive this thing???
might even ditch the 8 to own one of these if they compliance it for road use!!!

I saw both the Top Gear and Fifth Gear episodes where they reviewed the Atom, its one fantastic car.

You guys are lucky they are getting it road certified, not sure when or if it will ever cross the pond over to Canada.

But I'll be waiting in line for one the day it does :D

yup. saw the reviews by Clarkson on Top Gear and two separate episodes of Fifth Gear.
This thing is amazing. ultimate track car but when it rains, this stays in garage, so I dunno about the practically element of using it to replace 8 on road ...

I rather have that exact engine in the Lotus Exige... although it will cost 2 x as much.

BUT I WANT TO TEST that supercharged K20A

but the atom is the next cloest thing to a formula 3 or formula 1 car
and taka, it's 3 times as fast as the lotus exige so that means you get 3 times as many thrills in that thing.

Lamborgini Murcielago = $500,000 - 351 bhp/ton
atom = $60,000 - 600 bhp/ton
exige = $100,000 - 216 hp/ton

if you still haven't watched the videos from top gear or fifth gear to here:
http://www.openwheelers.co.nz/newmodel/downloads.htm

you will go nuts after watching it!!!

well, you get the same conditions as a bike, except you wont fall over half the time when your on one :p and might need a helmit and thick clothing when driving one

and in that thing, i dont feel the need to have roofs or windscreens or even doors :D

OMFG - that thing is a serious weapon!!

Laughed my **** off at the pommy reviewer's face getting the wind tunnel treatment then realised how happy he looked and got jealous!!!

Impossible to live with on our goat tracks though - would have to be a track day special only unless you've got cast iron kidneys.

I can live without the envy of others Zephyr!

Okay, sure it would be fun in small doses but living with it daily would become a chore. Much prefer to keep it for track use and the odd fun run.

Ashtrays optional on these?

It'd be nice if they had a fully body cover you could attach for day to day
driving and take off on the track.

i doubt there will be a group buy coz there is a seriously long waiting queue...
as you need a 24 week waiting period from time of order which is half a year
as expected from only 3 people putting the damn thing together by hand...

but they customise the car to you personal specifications
