I would look at the cars in Japan, they are more bang for your buck that is for sure. I got my 04 5-speed standard then had RE-Amemiya in Chiba swap out the suspension, wheels, exhaust, and do all my engine mods. I told them I love the sound of a rotary engine, so they ensured it was plenty loud enough. Japan has very little in the way of restrictions on a car's noise so was fine until I wanted to bring it into NZ. The the fun and games began.

No worries man. As far as importing goes, dollar for dollar NZ isn't much dearer than Japan, but the difference is that in Japan you are more likely to pick up a car with some nice stuff on it, less km's and in better nick than those in NZ.
You would be suprised what you might find in Jp with Mazdaspeed stuff or even RE-Amemiya gear on it sitting in car yards. |
