Any Revelation owners here?
Any Revelation owners here?
Hi guys,
Just curious if there are any limited edition Revelation owners here. I'm seriously considering one, and I have a few questions.
I know they've only just been released, but it's worth a shot
Thanks!
Mat.

I saw the Revelation at the dealer yesterday. It looks great.
I like the keyless entry and keyless start. You get a credit card sized transponder which works if you are within 5m of the car. To open the door you simply press a small button located next to the the key hole. To start the car you turn a ****.
Inside you have white leather and suede.

Yep, I really like it too.
Looking at the photos on the web, I thought the interior was too light, but after seeing it in person I think it looks great. The keyless entry/start is nice, and I really like the Copper Red exterior

They are very pretty but the white suede needs considering:
1. Looks sensational, but you would have to make sure that you didn't start having Don Johnson "clothing" moments. Very damn Miami.
2. No Kids, no smoking, no Mac D's, no chocolate, no pets, no putting the takeaway on the seat, no newpapers, etc etc OR regular cleaning and "protecting".
I priced one at a slightly laughable $68k! Timbo has a good point, most dealers have one in their showroom.
I have to wonder if in six months we don't start hearing whispers about a series 2 with most of this kind of fruit standard. The whole keyless thing is becoming more mainstream on Euro cars and given the target positioning of the 8, you would imagine Mazda considering this as "required" in the not too distant future.
All that said.
Bloody good looking beast and if it works for you go for it!!!!!!!

As the guys said.. go on go for it!! Be a devil......get a revelation....it will win you friends and influence people......
No seriously....with fur kids I would never consider it....however they do look nice.....

I had a close up peek when I was having a recent service...the copper red exterior is a damn nice colour but I agree with mikeyr, if you have family, the interior colour is downright dangerous....that being said of course, if you dont......
Geee, thanks
Heh, no kids, and only a cat that doesn't go in the car, so hopefully I'd be able to keep it clean.
I think it's a bit of a shame that Mazda don't offer some more lighter coloured interiors in the 8. Black leather always looks a bit dingy (sp?) to me, and I -really- don't like the black & red leather.
Here are a few happy snaps if anyone is interested:

Actually I think that interior looks pretty good... The insert makes it less white and probably managable... As Miss 6 is getting older and will be Miss 8 (or 7) when we trade the current car - the lighter trim might not be too bad....
I agree that black can look a bit tatty after a while and it definitely increases heat soak. It's also a little boring with very little contrast.
I find the Ltd edition interiors that have been released are too light though and don't think they are at all practical (unless you're very **** about what goes in your car).
I think a tan leather option (e.g. like the old MX5 ltd edition colour) would look good with some of the available exterior colours.

Saw the revelation yesterday and on the road. The colour is actually quite nice. A bit of a mixed of Jormatom and Kalli's car.
The beige leather is nice with the dusty looking swede in the middle. So dirt is less of a problem.
I like it.
But still I will not put a baby seat in the rear and for that matter I won't have it. Perfect when lil Ms Taka grows up.

so wait.... whats the difference? just interior colour and stuff?
i think id prefer the black leather interior instead of the white seats..
for me i need the interior mainly one colour with breaks in teh colour by other things.. i think white seats in a mainly black interior looks kinda iffy..
-edit-
just took another look at the interior, seems mainly white.. anyone got anymore pics of the interior? looks like too much black with the white there.. hrmm...
love the outside colour tho!

i dont know why they use suede in the middle instead of the leather. the leather would be more durable than the suede, and knowing mazda, they wont use the top of the range, marine grade suede for the factory equipped cars.....
oh well.... maybe MA should provide a set of throw on seat covers for the SHINKA and EVO owners...
