LOL what a ripoff!
I could make that myself for ~$20 in parts lol and If I was after the same function it offers, I'd make an adjustable temperature circuitboard (switch) instead of relying on fixed temp relays.

Kunz what would you want for your time? 'Cause if its less than $150 (convert to usd) then I'll have one thanks.
grizzly, nice find. I have to say that I haven't seen a whole lot of these type of product, in fact this is the first I have seen in this area, only other thing i can think of is the extra oil cooler. Hey I reckon that would be cool, oil cooler fans!!!! :-D

Bottom line, I do wiring, elec, work only on my car (those who have seen [BLOOD] will know) and on close friends (those who will not sue my **** if their car ends up in flames).
Why not upgrade the radiator instead?

you guys can poop on this, but it works... i dont know why at cruise you need the fans to run... but if they do. the temp diff is amazing...
i run a na car... used to be at 95 deg f i would have a temp of 191 to 205 on cruise... traffic different story...
now, i have to beat the crap out of the car to get it over 190deg..
i had to run the car in 4th gear at 74mph which gave a afr of15.1 and a cat temp of 1725 deg to get it up to 192deg..
all the figures were done with hymees sCANalyser.
btw, many have upgraded the rad... made little difference.. it is a high pressure low pressure thing...
i would love to see what this does with the bigger rad...
beers

You made my point nicely kunz. I know you were being light hearted but for those of us that a) dont have the time and b) want a product that is tried, tested and warranted, this was a nice post by Grizzly and warranted comments on the product.
As for a radiator, at this point I dont believe I have had water temp issues yet, my biggest concern is oil, brake and tyre temp.
Didnt I read somewhere that the dash oil temp guage is a load of crap?
Andrew

I dont see why you need a 'kit' for it esp one thats quite overpriced for what components it has but then again, I'm a stingy bastard. Maybe to make it convenient for rich rx8 owners
A better radiator will no doubt decrease the effective temperature of the engine so that might be an option for some who are after cooling.. (not sure how the stock rx8 radiator compares with aftermarket ones)

If I get around to doing it in the next couple of weeks, I'll post a DIY. Its really, really simple TBH.

i dont know why the air flow is so odd... but it works...
your were the one with the increase in hp with the hymee mufflers if i recall.... yes they work... and i know why...
why did you not do that yourself????
youstingybastard!!!!!!

Okay, having now read the product description a few times and the comments in this thread, I think I get the general idea (not really mechanically minded
).
Swoope, you've fitted one it seems. I accept you're getting lower temps but is this translating to some of the other benefits claimed (I've numbered them for ease of reference) -
"other benefits may include:
1. Extended Engine Life - Lower engine temperatures extend engine coolant seal life. [I accept you probably can't answer this one]
2. Better air-conditioning efficiency by lowering a/c condenser temperatures.
3. Better Engine Compression - The Operating Temps of a Rotary Engine will have a direct effect on engine compression. The higher the operating temperatures, the lower the engine compression. [Ditto]
Reported Side Effects:
4. Better starting after short-term parking.
5. More consistent idle due to higher compression and lower heat soak levels.
6. Better low rpm throttle response and horsepower increase due to higher engine compression.
7. Colder air-conditioning temperatures. "

Oh yes I was the one swoope.
Sorry I got confused re: hymee and the cooling relay.
If i knew how to install the exhaust, had the right tools, a hoist etc and a helping hand, I would have done it.
Problem is, my background is in computer engineering and biomedical engineering. I have little to no clue on how most of the mechanical bits of a car fit into place :\
Ask me to write and install the firmware on someones pacemaker, or to program a microprocessor to guide a robot along a set path, i'd do it without thinking twice

wow,
now problems...
you might want to check out the recall going on in the usa... but i am sure you know about it...
all i can tell you is it lowers the crap out of the h2o temps..
i have one of the bad motors.... i run premix and all is good... i will say the coolant temps are as i say... as above...
i did not write the marketing, i just gave the temps...
btw, on my to do list is a third oil cooler....
and yes you can do a relay switch maual fan mod... and that is fine..
beers

Wasn't trying to hold you to the claimed benefits - appreciate you're just a consumer like the rest of us. Was just curious to see if you noticed anything different besides the temp results on the scanalyser.
Pardon my ignorance, but where would you site the 3rd oil cooler (or am I falling for a gag here)?

there is a diy for a third oil cooler in the diy section... i think it is going above the revi duct and yes it is going to involve some grill mods... even if it does not have enough airflow it still adds volume....
