Annoying dent on the car, where you guys go and fix it?

Hi guys,

As we all know, after several years of driving, we probably all have some dents on our car (unless you are really lucky, or i am just very bad luck). Needless to metion what cause it, coz it only makes things worse. At the moment, i have around 3 noticeable dents on my car. 1 of them i just "collected" yesterday from some unsensible driver's door-open-hit and i almost faint when i saw it. Unfortunately, i found the dent AFTER i went home without knowing who the arshole is. Right now, it has reached the stage that i feel i might just get them all fixed together. Perhaps it's not much cheaper, as the repairs charge you dent by dent, but you know, it's always cheaper to "buy" more at once.

It's not hard to find a dent repair shop, easily can spot several from google. However, i have never tried any of those. And just like panel beat shop, they all do the same job, but the end result vary largely. Is there anyone can recommend one that is in melbourne area? Anyone knows how much they normally cost per dent? i have once asked a car wash place where also offer dent repair, they said one dent is around $350, i don't know either it's me really don't know the market price or they are just talking crazy. If anyone have any suggestion, please share it. At the end of the day, i think this information should benefit all of us, and ensure our car looks in top condition at a reasonable cost and retain extra resale value~lol.

One more thing, i have comprehensive insurance for my car, and the excess is around 500+, can i actualy ask them to pay for fixing all the dent at once? Anyone has done it before? I meant if that car wash place actually give me a realistic/reasonable quote, i might as well go through the insurance. Of course i will also see how much extra i will need to fork out next year due to the claim and lower my rating.

Thanks heaps for any help in advanced.

Cheers

Ian

Hi,

I just got my 8 little & 1 medium dents removed last week by this company --> http://www.1300dentrepair.com.au/

Total cost was $500 and now the car looks showroom condition - even the clear coat wasnt even touched. They came to my place to fix it in 4 hours.

I didn't know the doors are made off aluminium (lighter & stronger)! Would have been alot more expensive in a panel shop.

The dents were there when I bought the car last month off an old lady - from shopping! LOL!

Regards,

Francisco =B)

Try this guy. I have never used him but he has a good reputation.

Don't bother with insurance. It's not worth the hassle, future premium increase, lower rating, and paying an excess for a job which is only worth a few hundred bucks.

Dent doctor or something I use. There is one operating in my area. What DrGonzo recommend is also good.

No need to paint if you have not cracked it. They repair my Kluger 50cent coin size dent.

Great! Thanks guys!

I guess that's more than i need! Now i guess what i need to work out, among those repairer who can give me the best quote...

I did had a tiny chip on the dent. However, i really don't mind the chip if fixing the paint will cost me almost the same to fix the dent...unless it HAS TO be done altogether...otherwise i will be pretty happy with just fixing the dent itself.

Actually i am thinking, why don't we start an section in this forum which is full of repairer detail or recommended shop? It will quite beneficial to the members and a good shop always deserve more customers right?

It is difficult coz the damage, colour, insurance company etc will make it hard to compare.

Dent repair is around $60-$80
