When I worked for GWA Mazda SA (wholesale) all those years ago, their mark up on parts was 350-400%, BEFORE they sold to dealers, who bought it at list less 30 or 45%, so you can see who makes all the money.

Having said that they carry $millions tied up in stock, and a lot become"dead" stock...which the retail public pay for!..in the end.

What does Holden and Ford cover for emissions?

I would think that what ever they cover Mazda would have to come to the same party unless they already are.

Edited to add. .

Looking on line all I can see is a 36/100K warranty for Holden and Ford so if they do not have to do 5 years on their emissions we are going to be hard pressed to get Mazda to do it based on the law.

May have to work the right thing to do angle more than the legal part.

Every year since 1976, car salesman have been voted as the number 1 most dishonest and unethical profession in Australia. They are seen as rude, patronising, pushy and chauvinistic liars. The car industry is fully aware of this attitude, and after reading the National Customer relations managers reply, I can understand why. One thing he needs to be aware of is if people think they're getting ripped off, they won't think twice about taking legal action.

They may sit there in their ivory tower laughing about it or even how much money they have made off us, but if it is proven there is dishonest, unethical, deceptive or fraudulent business practices going on, they may end up on the wrong end of a law suit...

Your gopetitions link does not work..

You can see the 4 threads I started..please read them, some owners emailed MA as I requiested..I think plan B, you can see their response (for memory one person put up their letter from MA).
Basically MA said no..

I then put up a thread asking for Owner Vehicle details (Plan C) via a PM here so I would approach/Petition Mazda Japan....I got 8 responses, certainly not enough.

Please by all means have a go, but all you will get is many readers of your thread with no or little response.....people are apathetic.

AFAIAC I will not be sympathetic when their engines go, because in time they will., or performance and compressions will get that bad.... they may wake up and notice but it will be too late.

Many of the regulars here (the 8 or so) are out of warranty.
