My car stinks (not as much as before)! I'm going to get aa right angled attachment to my pressure washer. I've still got wombat guts hanging from underneath. May that wombat rest in peace.

Got the car back from service (they didn't remove the grilled wombat from underneath)... I got my coolant and oil changed. I guess I am ready for Broadford track day. I can't wait!!!

I'll bleed my brakes this weekend and give it a nice wash and polish.

Dec 11 is too far away!

Glad I missed all the wombat action (although I did see bits of it on the road). Anyone got any pics or more vids of the day to post up?

So Taka was the quickest of the RX-8s? What were the other cars in the 40s?

cough cough yes since you were not here mate.

From DavidM,

The best times for the day were:
- '05 STi (R-spec tyres, coilovers, exhaust, 21psi, etc) = 1:38.95
- 350Z (me, R-spec tyres, springs, exhaust) = 1:40.08
- S2000 (supercharger, R-spec tyres) = 1:42.09
- Datsun 1600 (race car) = 1:42.20
- RX8 (Taka, R-spec tyres, chip, exhaust, coilovers) = 1:43.42
- JDM DC5 Type-R (R-spec tyres) = 1:45.80
- '06 MX5 (R-spec tyres, suspension, exhaust + small engine mods) = 1:46.43
- RX8 (RT615 tyres, not sure what else) = 1:46.56
- 350Z (Iggy, exhaust) = 1:47.17

I would have had to bring the FD to beat that lot

I still reckon an RX-8 on the right day could do a 42. Ill have to have another bash at it

In fact it was an XR6 Turbo (ECU tricked up to 257.5 kW @ rear wheels).

Best time was 1:47:2980!!

Pads were all but disintergrated & pieces missing in the Dunlop 9000's!

Whoops, not sure why I wrote XR8 as it was pretty hard not to hear the turbo spool up as it kicked down a gear coming out of the esses. Entertainment +++

Not a word of a lie, that is how it came off the car with no jimmying, twisting or anything.

Thanks Andrew and Taka for inviting me in the 1st place as it could not have turned out to be a better day. I don't think one could have asked for more perfect weather. Also the day run very smoothly, and conveneintly the only hold up/off happened right before lunch so no major delays because of it.

Also thanks to Taka for taking me for a spin.

Spot on other than the coilovers.. Still on springs.

Thanks for the correction Ben. Was good to see you at Winton and I'm sure I'll see you at the track again.

Andrew,

Wombat is tough aren't they?

It is only a cross - arm. Did you feel the flex of the car on the track? That will answer my quest to increase the strength of the under brace?

Ta

DavidM. You have to take me out for a spin next time ;()

One and a bit laps. Reduced resolution = smaller file
Also thought I better include at least one if not two RX8's
