Andrew

Your favourite part of the track if my memory serves me correctly. One time starring directly at those round things painted white & stacked up neatly!

Thanks to the organisers. I was the guy in the STi and had a great day. Met some nice people and saw some great cars.

Cheers,
Ben

I filmed a bit of that. I knew if I stood there long enough Andrew would perform... And as you can see he did

A 1:46 by Russell with the both of us in the car is pretty good. In Russell's car the time difference for laps with a passenger and without was approx 2-3 seconds. So I think he could have done a 1:44 on his own in the MX. Damn I would love to be able to do that! All I can say is he can bloody drive.

Overall a great fun day besides the few little mishaps... Friggin Wombats!

Greg, we missed you and Brewer on the track yesterday...More Rx-8's I say! To many bloddy Hondas :-D Joking (about the Hondas that is).

Brewer, sorry I couldnt catch up a bit more but as usual I was busy on the track or running around like a headless chook!

Stu, forgot to say thanks for the filming. Also can you pass the axial Flow web address (http://www.axialflow.com/) onto Phil. He was interested in the S2000 Application being considered.

Just one buckled wheel How is that going Stu?

Yep all is being taken care of. If the stock Mazda wheel is stupid expensive another set of Enkei's could just be on the way

I would suggest next time you guys take advantage of Russell if he is there, to sit in the passenger seat while you do a few laps. His teaching is fantastic and in just a few laps had completely altered my driving style to the better. He really showed me how to set up and attack the corner by driving the car through it. Made a big difference.

What he showed me in those few laps was superior to what I have learnt at the Sandown days so far. A real in your face teaching style as he yells NO, NO, NO if you don't do exactly what he's trying to teach you. Loved it. Actually got so much out of it I am thinking of paying for him to come to the next day to get him in the car with me some more!

LMAO...Hows this everyone...Dr Taka who spent last year studying dead bodies has a soft spot for rotary cooked Wombat! We pulled up after our meeting with the said wombat and did an inspection. Taka was dry reaching the whole time...Is it just me or is that seriously funny??

Guys some bad news. My car has gotten progressively worse with each speed bump I scrapped. I have had my tyres changed and while it was there I got them to have a look at the damage. The gearbox crossmember has torn back and the nut welded onto the chasis has been pulled through. I am also hearing some ugly noises on left turns so I am now worried about damage to other than the gearbox crossmember. I am off to my dealer now to have them assess it.

After advise of someone else, I went over to my mechanics quickly for a once check over. The only complain I had is the spongie brakes. There is no bubble to the line but a wrapped rear disc - so machined both at the brake shop a few doors back. AOK now. Still have not swap back to normal road tyre yet

I found there is a lot of wombat meat underneath. When I saw it coming, it was already skinned off.

Check all 4 suspensions and arms auzoom.

Bloody stupid animals on the road... with brown hair

Well I am back and $400 out of pocket. I can safely say that for me the track is safer than the road...and I am making a big point of it to my wife :-D

I told a lie befoe its not a gearbox crossmember (hang over from my R100 that I ave been dealing with recently) its just a drivetrain crossmember that sits over the cat. Its absolutely @#$%^&*(. Twisted to all buggery and ripped one of the bolts through the floor pan. sounds worse that it is and the extra noises on cornering were just becuase of the way it was twisted.

As for the wombat, I am definately going to need an underbody clean...its abslutely disgusting!!!

Cheers

Andrew

(the last one is probably a bit too close to home though )

Hard to imagine 1 Wombat did all this to the cars. An expensive little critter that was!

Glad to hear the car is not as bad as first thought Andrew!

Maybe next time we draw straws and have someone drive point 500m ahead of the rest of us
