Lucky I had my alignment done!

Otherwise, I will destroy the new semi slicks that I have. This is what I got from Stuckey when the machine was applied to check the alignment.

The camber was wrong, the front toe was in, and the rear toe is way in (a massive +8.10). It is either a mistake from the last place I went to ... which I suspect since they use a different units of measuring toe (in terms of degree in Centerline). So I think I will stick with Stucky smile_wink .

I want to max as such in the front as possible. By that the best is to have a person to sit it and balance it out. Adrian muck around a little bit with that and got some since balance with front camber at 2'40" (or 2.6 degree) This seems to be the maximum I could get from the front and that is what I get from Donnellans. Since that time, the car has been handling well and I ain't changing that.

The rear camber is fine since it is slightly less than the front, so I left that.

There has been a big big big push of all four toe zero set up for track use. And slight toe in for the rear for street use (*reference REVspeed May 2007). But I am very conservative on that view and certainly I have tried front toe zero with no great result. The car unwind great but the turn in was horrible. You probably sacrificed the turn in ability with the response of unwinding the car and be more responsive on twisties... But I am willing to get towards zero as much as possible. So I get 1m (toe out) in the front and -2m (toe in) in the rear. That will be a great experiment since my driving has changed so much in the last year.

Monday is Broadford day. I will give it a go. I need a break from work and study now since I am very depressed by it.

Coffee is great at the car wash coffee

I took your advice TAKA and had an oil change done today. Didn't think to do a wheel alignment check though... I'll go to magic car wash on Sunday morning - i've earned a freebie so why not.

I went today. Saw couple of Porsche mechanics with their customer's car. I think they use the carwash for their cars being serviced at Porsche centre.

A stamp of approval I would say!

I asked big Kev for suggestions to prep the car. He suggested two things:

1. pump your tyres up to 40psi.
2. Tank up. There's a petrol station in the town of Broadford that we can top up when we get there.

I got my oil changed for the day and have booked my car in for a 2.5yr service straight after to change all the fluids.

Interestingly, RACV insurance will cover provided the day on the track is not about racing. Coool.

It's the little things for newbies like me to know about.

I would suggest against the servo in Broadford. Last time we were there it was a grotty little thing which didnt have premium and I wouldnt have trusted it if they did.

Best advice...bring a 20ltr can of spare fuel.

There's a petrol station at Wandong 20km before Broadford.

I might pull in there along the way.

Well done Kev, thanks for another great day. And thanks to everyone who came for making it a great day. This was my first track day in ages where I could just track...Almost forgot how much fun it is

As taka said the day had everything, rain, sunshine, RX-8's, Evo's, Integra's, Silvia's, 350z's. Turbo's going pssshttttt everywhere ( @ taka).

It was actually really fun to drive the car in the rain. I learnt how far you can push the car in the wet

Pulled low 1:16's in the wet and 1:12's in the dry. best for the day was a 1:12.46.

Biggest lesson I learnt for the day...If you change your front pads, make sure you change your rears as well .

Video uploading now...
