Sorry guys. Work and Basketball has kept me busy the last 3 months.

Lets get this going again. I will go through and get the list updated. The latest I can tell you is that Hymee has contributed a nice big donation.

Next thing is what do we want to do for food? We have the option of catering on site or going to town.

Cheers

Andrew

I vote for on site catering.Has been very good in the past, and keeps everyone together.
Big plus is no driving back to your motel if you're staying at Wakefield-as you would.
Cheers

Agree with MACCAA. Living on site and town is comparatively very far.

Revolver 04-19-2009 05:11 PM

^^ + 1

And thanks to Hymee for the donation! :)

Ottog 04-21-2009 05:45 AM

The onsite have it - that's my choice as well

mikeyr 04-22-2009 06:07 PM

On site the only way to go!

auzoom 05-03-2009 11:40 PM

OK guys, here we go https://www.rx8club.com.au/forum/vie...hp?f=43&t=5135

Revolver 05-04-2009 12:04 AM

Woohoo!

Those umming and ahhing about going - just do it. Best weekend with your RX8 you'll have all year.

Revolver 05-04-2009 05:48 PM

To sweeten the pot, I'll be making a prize available to one lucky entrant. Details to follow but you've got to be in it to win it...

Revolver 05-05-2009 12:37 AM

Ok, I've sorted something.

One lucky driver entrant will leave the Nats with his/her very own TomTom XL GPS Sat Nav unit, which comes with Australia-wide maps (value $400). I've got one myself and find them very user friendly.

http://www.tomtom.com/products/produ...tegory=0&Lid=8

To prevent people doing stupid stuff on the track and to encourage beginners, this won't be available for fastest lap time, hottest car or anything like that. It will be drawn from a hat on the Saturday night, with only track drivers eligible to enter. Given current numbers, your odds are pretty good.

Can't think of a better prize to symbolise the national flavour of this event - use it to find your way to next year's Nats! :)

Revolver 05-11-2009 02:53 AM

Quick poll guys. I'm finalising the entry form with Andrew.

Do we want:

1. Shirts?

2. Plates?

I'm ambivalent about both...

matt13b 05-11-2009 07:45 AM

Shirts

MACCAA 05-11-2009 03:40 PM

In the harsh reality of the current economy,I can live without either.
Nothing comes for free, and I've got enough t-shirts for two lifetimes.
I'd rather keep it cheap 'n cheerfull and just have everyone pay for meals, accomodation, and track time.
Basically,it goes on your Entry Fee.
Having said that,if anyone wants to sponsor this,I'll have one of each!
Cheers
Len

Revolver 05-11-2009 05:07 PM

I agree with Len but other opinions welcome...

timbo 05-11-2009 05:16 PM

People seem to like shirts as a souvenir -- you see them being worn at later events, which is a good thing. That said, ideally they should be paid for by a sponsor if possible -- not sure how likely that is.

I'd really like a long sleeve shirt of some type that you could use for track days, so I'll put that on the table for consideration.

I'm happy to coordinate with my old mate, who did them for the first Nats. He's a great bloke -- he gives me everything except a discount! :eyetwitch

Revolver 05-11-2009 05:23 PM

Now a cotton (i.e. not the plastic crap that makes you sweat) long sleever is something I'd pay money for if we can't attract sponsorship. Good idea Timbo.

What do the rest of you think?

And Timbo, can you please post that in the .au thread too please, so we get the views of the members in that joint??

Revolver 05-11-2009 05:26 PM

Well, lookee there - I've clicked over into the 7K club. I think that many mindless contributions is worthy of some celebrating...

Too right, cotton is a must.

Wow -- 7,000 Dave. Good work!

takahashi 05-12-2009 12:56 AM

What was the question?

I missed a couple of emails I think

Shirt ... anything, as long as not apple green :)
