[EOI] 2009 Nationals - Wakefield - 8th August
Hi all,
I was going to wait until next year when everyone had gotten over Christmas but speaking with Wakefield, uness someone else has booked a date, there was Saturday 8th of August and Sunday 16th. I was only allowed to pencil in 1 day and as traditionally Nats have been held on a Saturday I penciled in the 8th. So firstly, has anyone else booked a date? else who is in? I need an answer to wakefield by the 12th January. Costs will depend on numbers but traditionally it has been around the $350-450 mark (for a track participant) with 2 nights accomodation and 4 meals.
Bank Account details are as follows: BSB: 633-000 Account: 129903936 Name: Mazda RX-8 Owners Club of Victoria Inc |
Count me in! Also Archie from Mazfix is keen.
Cheers Col |
Awesome. I added Simon from Promaz who is keen as well.
Cheers Andrew |
I am in ftw~!
|
Count me in[in the S3 section.....]and I'm sure Timbo,Revolver,Rod etc.
Usual offer re Track assistance and Driver [miss]Training... Sounds like a plan.... Cheers Len |
...wonder how big the S3 section will be by then? :lol2:
Andrew, happy to look after liaison with Wakefield, if needed |
Wakefield are pretty "techy". They are really good with email, etc so under control so far. Will let you know if any visits required.
Cheers Andrew |
It is pretty gay that Len and Timbo always have the same car.... ^_^"

I must admit I find it slightly strange when I find myself in the company of a bunch of blokes all driving the same car...I...er...worry! :eyetwitch |

Nice one guys, keep them coming.
|
Rod and I will head the NA group - watch out!
Right Rod? |
I'm in as well. Just to confirm, only opened to RX-8 (and fellow rx-8 ex owners)?
|
Yes, RX-8's only. Plus of course the usual long term supporting ex-owners.
Cheers Andrew |
I think all of us should tell owners on the road about this when they see one. Since it is Aug not Oct, we should start make people aware of its presence.
So I am going to write a note to many RX-8 I see on the road about this. I am linking this thread to the announcement area (when the date is confirmed). |
Someone want to do an A4 sheet up to hand to the Dealer Service Managers?
I recall someone doing one for 2006. Cheers Andrew |
Count me in as well.
skc |
Good job guys, keep them coming. Back in the "great" state this year so no excuses, we should be able to get to at least 30 people.
Cheers Andrew |

Well if the offer stands I will attend this time. No house being built next year to eat away all my money! Besides I only ever got to do half a dozen laps there at the first nationals before I lost 2nd gear!
And no Honda either... Tired of all the issues of the Jtune product so have dumped it. Will be picking up a nice new factory built John Cooper Works mini Tuesday afternoon. Almost ideal for playing on the track straight from the production line. Thanks Santa! |

What colour is the Mini, and what options does it have? And do the BBS's off the Type R fit it? Cheers Len The wheels of the type R don't fit... Too big but there is no shortage of type R owners down here willing to swap their stock rims with me including a small donation to my mini fund :) I had no choice in colour with this one it was the final one the dealer had in stock and he really wanted it gone before Jan 1. To do so he offered under $50K drive away and as one of the other dealers I visited were wanting $65K for the same spec so I thought it a great deal. Besides I needed to purchase something before spending christmas up here in canberra that way I would not go home with an S3! The colour is red body with white roof and white bonnet stripes, fabric interior with red half leather, JCW shift lights (this is really cool), and the top of the line JCW sport suspension. Without all the other fancy stuff like sunroof etc the car weighs in under 1150kg so should be real fun on track! How is the S3? |
Count us in please!! I will share driving with Janette.
Incidentally I was down at Wakefield on Monday - thought hardly anyone would be there this week - got that wrong it was worse than Pitt Street. About 30 street cars all with drivers of varying ability - quite scary at times. No briefing at all I just do not understand why Wakefield do it. Even basic passing signals aren't advised. Made me again appreciate the organised track day with briefings and allocation to session according to skill level. Cheers Alan |

Like the S3 it gets good reviews, but both are a bit dear. With the deals we got that problem was solved! S3 is very good, but I knew it would be after driving Tim's a couple of times. I've driven a few Cooper 'S' types at the Advanced Driving courses and they're always fun to drive.Looking forward to seeing yours. Did you trade the Type R? Cheers Len |

I am in - of course. I will put an A4 flyer together to get to the dealers. I think this could be the key to getting newbies involved. My car will be celebrating its 6th Birthday by then; just getting run in!! - who knows maybe I should upgrade.
|
Selina and I are both in for the accomodation but just me for driving. (Should have my second oil-cooler in by then)
|
Guys, dont forget to advise an extra attendees. It will help towards discount on accom (maybe). Also, Anyone disagree with charging track fee per car on the proviso that the car is only entered in a single group?
Rod, I am concious of people not wanting to sign up for forums, being afriad of the ".com" forum, etc so can you place and email address of "events at ozrenesis dot com dot au" for people to enquire with. Cheers Andrew |

Cheers Andrew Anyone disagreeing with anything you do can organize their own event anytime they like...... Just do it your way Andrew. If you ask for suggestions there'll be at least 27 different ones-mainly from people who've never attended a Nats..... You've done enough of these events to have the backing of the people that count. Cheers Len PS The Wakefield Hilton cabins are still the go! |
+1
Andrew is the king to delegate work. Just tell us what to do. I can feed you some idea we had in our past track days and we can select the ones that works for Nats 09. |
Put me down as plus 1
