You should keep this in mind

I have a story that you might know about or might not know about. But you should keep it in mind. I own a 2006 RX-8 and was at the dealer getting my 75,000 mile check up done, while there I went online to I think it was called rotor-mag and read numerous stories about blown engines in the RX-8 world. How they would act up and then need decarboned and the engine would be wasted. So I panicked when that very same day they told me my engine needed decarboned. So I let it go and about 2 weeks later, it was raining on my way home from work and my engine light came on, and then my car would run very bad at times and my mind went right to the article I read. I cleared the computer code out and the car ran good for 2 days then acted up again. Before the light came back on the dealership said they could not do anything coz there was no code for them to read, I could not believe that they could not tell it was misfirering. When the light returned I took it back and they read the code and informed me the car was misfirering ... wow. So to make a long story short, my engine was fine, not blown like in the article I read online. However, the four plugs, 4 coils, and the plug wires all needed replaced. Afterwards the car runs like new again, never needed a decobonizing or a new engine. If they tell you the engine is blown just dont let it rest at that, these things are built like bullets !!!!!!

it takes a lot to blow a rotary engine. usually its carbon gets built up causing low compression.

heh used to think that until one day my engine started sounding like a bridge port and couldnt rev above 4k and my friends motor seized up while driving.

when mine was having its "temper" issue, it would hardly move at times and sounded like the engine was history. Thats why I posted this cause back in the days I grew up I seen people sell cars very cheap coz they "were broke" but it was just something simple like a wire busted under the distributor that wouldnt let the car run ... and even after many mechanics checked it out they could not find this simple problem. I guess what I am getting at is ... if you dont see it for yourself, dont believe it !!!!!! The first "wankle" engine had problems, I think the seal that the rotor used a a guide would get wasted after a short period of time. But like fine wines and ladies ... it has improved with age. LOL
