Thank you, Captain Obvious!

Consumers Say They Get Satisfaction from Toyota
Date Posted 08-18-2005

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Toyota dominated a new University of Michigan consumer survey that measures customer satisfaction; Ford received the study's lowest score.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index, which questioned 8,096 vehicle owners between April 1 and June 30, rated automakers based on owners' satisfaction. The study was released on Monday, according to the Associated Press. Owners were asked about their overall satisfaction and their satisfaction level compared to their expectations. They also were asked to rate how their vehicle compares to their ideal vehicle.

Toyota got the top score of 87 out of 100. Ford got the lowest score of 75. Honda, BMW, and GM's Cadillac and Buick were listed among the top five performers. Half of the brands improved their scores from last year, including Hyundai and Pontiac. Customers gave the vehicles an average rating of 80.

University of Michigan researchers say the study shows U.S. automakers should spend less on incentives and more on quality improvements.

What this means to you: The moral of the story is that Toyota raised prices this summer, after getting the highest satisfaction score. A lesson for Detroit automakers: Quality sells.

what do yall call ann arbor down in columbus? a *****? While I can agree to some extent. I'd rather spend a lifetime in hell than the sphincter that is in central ohio. Just ask rx8buckeye, he would agree.

The Only Big Ten School that is worth visiting is Wisconsin. All the rest are either Ghetto (Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State) or super boring (Northwestern, Purdue). I visited them all (except Penn State, but they really don't count anyways) during my 5 years at Wisconsin where I enjoyed 2 Rose Bowls and a Final Four. Wisconsin is the best mix of fun & scenery, with the best student union in the country. Lakeside + Beer + Bands

Haha, that reminds me of my friend who bought an electric wheelchair to try and make it fast. It ended up sitting in his garage, but it was a great idea.

Im glad you guys have no idea what you are talking about!

I've lived in Ann Arbor for 17 years, and its definetly one of the nicest college towns on the planet. Ann Arbor is definetly not even a detroit suburb... so dont confuse it with detroit! Ghetto? Are you kidding me?

Madison is a lot like Ann Arbor, both are very nice big ten, let alone college in general, towns. We stayed in the Madison Union and wow is it old! It is pretty nice on the lake though. Ann Arbor, MI, Ithaca, NY, Madison, WI, are probably the nicest college towns ive been in.

/end rant
