Purchase a new RX-8 or wait

Im wondering if the MazdaSpeed and HKS versions will be available as kits that could be placed onto an RX-8 if I were to purchase now, or would I have to purchase one as a stand alone car?

Sorry if that question is kinda dumb, Im rather new to all this

the HKS stuff will definitely be available aftermarket, a la carte :D as well as probably parts from several other tuners. but you'll be paying a lot for HKS's quality parts, and probably get some pretty quality performance and looks. dunno about mazdaspeed. in japan they've been supplying a myriad of parts and accessories for a long time, but they just started marketing here in the 'states w/ the mazdaspeed protege recently, and so far there hasn't been any official mazdaspeed performance parts...at least none that i know of. but that might change in the future. there're places on the internet that sell jdm mazdaspeed parts directly from japan, but i think they're expensive.

i wonder about this, too. crossing my fingers w/ the mazdaspeed rx-8. pretty sure the parts will make it here, but whether the entire stand alone car...? but HKS stuff should definitely be happening...in the relatively near future

Well, as far as Mazdaspeed is concerned, if you're looking for accessory type items like those seen on the silver "Mazdaspeed Concept" which was shown at this year's Tokyo Auto Show, you should be able to add those items later.

Then there is the Mazdaspeed version of the RX8 which we are expecting in a year or two, which may or may not include more displacement or FI, an SMT, and other items which are not necessarilly considered "bolt-ons". In which case you would need to wait. But none of that has been made official, so who knows what will actually come out of it.
