my car is an 04 rx8, i think through wat i've read before i am mistaken and it is in fact a titanium gray rx8.
dent was due to pple throwing the football around in a parking lot when i was in high school, happened a while ago since now i have already completed my first year of college.
What i did was use a pro grade paint stripper since my oem paint on the rims was chipping and then after i had it down to the bare metal i prep'd it for painting.
-2 cans of primer (1 per 2 rims)
-2 cans of gunmetal paint (1 per 2 rims)
-2 cans of gloss (1 per 2 rims)
-sandpaper
2 coats of each starting with the primer wait a little bit between each step
If you want 3 coats just buy more cans.
Your end result should look just about the same as mine.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
BTW i still have these on and in the same color. still looks great. turns a lot of heads

fine, fine. I was going paint crazy that day. see the 4runner with the front grill off? it was pewter, and I decided to go darker, it's the same gunmetal metallic as my wheels. ties everything in nicely with the headlights. the key, of course, it prep. if you do a shitty prep work, then the results will be shitty. i cannot stress it enough, PREP the MUTHAFing thing correctly!! if you oil your tires then no doubt oil will have already gotten on to the wheels and we all know that paint will not stick to the oil. i also didn't know how people used tape, mine couldn't stick to the tires so i went the index cards route. at one point i got lazy and didn't use any covering and got some on the tires, but the tires are oily (the color paint, not the primer) and the paint came right off. i like the look better then the stock wheels.
so shiney! also, see that 6 in the reflection. oh yea, i keep all my cars showroom shiney.

nah, leave it unpainted. it ties it in nicely. plus most dark aftermarket wheels do not have painted centercaps.
I could have popped off the mazda emblem in the centercap, painted it, and put the emblem back on, but i thought it would look cheap so i left my centercap alone.

yea it was missing one but replace it long ago. this paint is still on it too. rear dent is still there too. anyone know of a simple way to pop it out without damaging the paint? only thing that is different is that the exhaust is gone
