~04/19/2009 Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky Spring Meet, Grill and Cruise~
Meet moved to 4/19/09
Due to bad weather we have decided to reschedule the Cinci/NKY meet and cruise to 4/19/09. we apologize for the inconvenience. We have had 1 bad accident in the past due to cruising during bad weather, I would rather keep us safe and take a bit more than 2 weeks to go ahead and continue the meet.
Hello to all!
We have been planning a spring meet for couple months.
So we have decided on a date and we hope to have as many cars
enthusiast as possible!
Here is the Info:
3/29/09
MEET & GRILL
Devou Park
We will meet at the top parking lot of Devou Park.
Please let me know what can you bring for the cook out
I will bring drinks, paper plates, plastic forks, and plastic cups.
Directions:
1) If you are coming South on I-75 you will get off of the first exit when you
cross the bridge. It is exit 192, 5th Street, Covington/Newport. When you
get off the exit you will immediately have to go right or left. You want to
go to the right toward Ludlow. Turn right at the stop sign. Go through 1
stop sign and you will be right in front of a Hampton Inn. As soon as you
pass it Western Ave will be on the left. Turn left onto Western Ave.
Follow the road till you see a sign for Devou Park. There is a small green
sign on a pole on the left or there is a bigger one on the right. You will
make a real sharp right hand turn which will point you in the direction you
just came. Make sure you keep going to the right and you will find yourself
at the top of the lookout with a large parking lot in front of you. We will
be there.
2) If you are coming North on I-75
Take exit 192, 5th Street Covington, Newport
Turn Left at the light.
At the second light turn left onto 3rd Ave.
Stay right till you pass the Hampton Inn
Turn left onto Western Ave. Go about .75 miles
Take SHARP Right into Devou Park and keep going toward the right till you
are at the top.
TIME
3 PM
CRUISE
To be decided (Please post Ideas)
Current idea: Route 8 from Devou Park up heading to Indiana
by the OH river.
AFTER CRUISE
Turn around and head over to Willie's Sports Café for those
who would like some beers and more food.
If anyone has any recommendations please post up!
There is enough time to plan ahead.
If anyone have any questions please let us know
It should be a great time to chill and hang out
With our local Car aficionados.
It is open to all car enthusiasts so please pass the word!

Reason: bad weather ..
I say we should do that and find some back roads in Indiana and KY back to the airport and Devue Park and we all should go to BW3's. They are better than Willies.
^ that would be a sweet cruise.... i just traced it on google maps and it looks like a Win!
route 8 onto route 20 onto route 18 onto 338 onto rabbit hash hill road onto rabbit hash town ..... is that what your talking about xander?
yes sir...its a very nice ride...i live on 20...and every chance i get when its warm i take the gixxer out and head to rabbit hash...its a neat place...that store there is from the early 1800's..there might be a lot of bikers there but they are mostly friendly
That sounds like a nice route. I drive to the East Bend Power Plant every once in a while so I know there are some nice roads in that area.
Steve - Glad to hear you got out from under the 8 especially in times like this. I bet it feels good. So just tell us will your next car be in the same class? You gotta give us something. I dont like being teased.
ha dude, that cobalt might not keep up on the backroads :]
Yea I don't know about that. I doubt a new cobalt ss/tc would have that much trouble keeping up with your car, or mine on the back roads. Unless you have some decent mods.
chevy and toyota attempted to make a cheaper sports car, but you cant hind the fact the SS is built on the old cavalier frame --horrible handling.
The t/c well that is just a skinny camry with some flashy styling.
The SS may go faster in a straight line, but stock rx-8's 50/50 weigh distribution and lenghty gears will take that in the backroads anyday.
(the SS handles like an srt-4, and we know they cant stop or turn left)
