Thumbs up Red Calipers on Sunlight Silver RX8 + Fender Strakes

Decided to do a little something something to the 8. Had the windows tinted, painted the calipers red with G2 Paint and put Fender Strakes on. Overall everything went well and everything looks good. I'm going to take better pics later on in the week when the 8 is washed and the wheels are shinning!

But until then, here are some quick pics:

I think I will be grinding mine smooth and painting them black. Check out Devoid's calipers : https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=42948

Are those PoLaks decals or did you do the two paint stencil idea?

I would put a nickel on it that they are Polak's as he posted the picture of Devoid's smooth caliper.

Yes they are and they worked out very good. It was very easy to put on, even though I messed up on one. I have the R at a little slant.

At first I wasnt going to but I didnt like the way it looked. So I went ahead and painted them too. It was harder for the paint to stick on the pad. I did mess up in a couple spots though. But I guess you can only see it if you're looking very close at the caliper.

after painting mine with duplicolor, I tried out G2, it's well worth the extra cost.

Also, sanding down the caliper before painting helps make it looks smooth and crisp (and I don't mean using sandpaper by hand).

Yeah my buddy used the duplicolor on his LS and you most def can see the difference between mine and his. Sanding would've given it a much smoother feel/look but I was about to sand all of them. LOL

you can buy sander attachments (pack of 4 bits with different grit) at walmart for $12 that will fit on a corded drill. That will work fine - make sure to buy some masks.
