I've done a little bit of reading on here and I'm still a bit unclear as to what EXACTLY needs to be done.

I want to upgrade my firmware in order to use the PIE adapter without it constantly shutting off. From my understanding, the upgrade is actually a piece of hardware. Is this piece of hardware something I can purchase or do I have to send my headunit away and/or go to a dealer?
