What happens? New ENgine?
OK so you all told me since my car has under 100k miles and is a 2004 i get a new engine.
How long does it usually take to get done? (I am having it towed tomorrow to the Mazda Dealer)
What about rentals?
Has anyone else gone thru this before?
Thanks in advance

He's as bad as Can
It sometimes doesn't work that easy. Do you have records of the oil changes and are there any mods? Mazda doesn't hand out engines that easy if there is a reason they can avoid it.

Hey brother, check out the the SARX (San Antonio RX Club) lounge, we are all local and can give you the inside scoop. We are a very active group and usually have something going on almost every weekend.
Where are you planning on towing it? I had my last engine (yes I'm on my third) and my second done at North park without issue either time. Another local member work at Legend Mazda as well. Hoss-05 has had two done at IPAQ and the results were very poor (first engine failed due to install error, untightened bolts, etc.)

My experience
Here is my terrible experience when Mazda fixed my blown engine under warranty. They didn't give me a rental until after 3 months and 2 rebuilt faulty engines later, and then finally after 3 months and 3 weeks it looks like this engine might make it past 1 day of driving finally:

Just deal with Sean Anton, yes they will try and make you get coils and plugs before they cover it, get the coils and plugs online, save yourself a ton of money. They are okay at North Park, should take 2-3 weeks tops. Let me know if you need advise.

I have a question for you guys. I see that in North America Mazda warranties the motor 8 year 100,000 miles. Is this for just North America? I'm in Taiwan. My motor failed in Jan and I've since gotten a new one, and it was expensive.... cost around US$9200 to replace...I guess due to high import tax. The old motor started to have weird clanking sound during high RPMS after owning this new car. Gone back to the dealer many times but always could not solved the problem, seems I was losing compression so getting and oil change would solve the problem for a little while then at around 2500km the oil would die. Anyways it's since been out of warranty. MaZda tells me the car and all its parts are warrantied only 3 year 60000km. Is there is true? What are the warranty coveraged so different?
My other question is I used to have that chirping noise when the oil was going bad. Once the oil was replaced the sound went away, until finally no matter what I did even after replacing the oil the sound stayed. With this new engine I am hearing slightly that sound again after about 2Km...sort of coming from the front right side of the car? Can anyone tell me what it is? I've always used mineral 5W50 Mazda oil due to high temp in Taiwan. What should I do? I'm afraid the old problem is coming back again. The oil level seems fine and not watered down so I have no clue.
