What is this?
What is this strange connector I have just floating around my engine bay? Please be gentle, I just bought my 04 Lightning Yellow two days ago, and it didn't come with an owners manual. I found this connector on the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall. It goes up into the firewall, under the washer fluid reservoir, if I remember correctly.

looks like one half of a fuse holder for an aftermarket radio amp

Yep. That looks like a power lead for an aftermarket amplifier. If an amp were hooked up, it would have a fuse in that holder with the other half of the holder screwed on to hold the fuse in place. The missing half would also have more wire that would be connected to the +12V battery terminal.

Ok, so nothing I'm worried about at all. ive been pouring over the car to find anything wrong or in need of immediate repair, and that thing scared the crap out of me cause I noticed that the RX8, unlike a great many cars I've seen, doesn't seem have any extra harness connectors just laying about so I got worried when I saw that.
